A time for students to personally decide to confirm the vows of their baptism.

Sign Up for Fall 2019 Confirmation

A Public Affirmation of Faith

In Confirmation, a group of students join together to explore who Christ is, what it means to know Jesus through a life-long relationship and how we can follow Him as United Methodists.

I learned more than I ever thought I would. I could speak my mind and I learned to ask myself 'What would Jesus want me to do?' more often.

What is Confirmation?

Confirmation is the time when a personal decision is made to confirm the vows of our baptism. At The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, this happens as a group of students (grades 8th-12th) join together for a semester of exploring the Christian faith, our history and heritage, Scripture, beliefs and commitments as United Methodist Christians. The Confirmation Ceremony is their first public affirmation of the faith of the church as being their own faith. The confirmand is taking responsibility for living as a member of the body of Christ and for fulfilling God's purposes.

Confirmation is not simply a “rite of passage.” It is not just a class to complete, nor something to take because every one else is. It is a step in a life-long journey of pursuing the heights and depths of God’s love!
