Intentional Parenting Class | March 26–April 23

Parenting kids, whether they’re in preschool or high school, is challenging. This class holds something for all parents - because all parents want to be better parents. Discover 10 intentional actions that, over time, can help you be an exceptional parent in a quick fix world. This class includes video teaching from Doug and Kathy Fields along with thoughtful group discussion.

  • Attend all 5 sessions or just those that work for you.
  • Tuesdays 6-7pm. March 26-April 23
  • Childcare provided with advance registration. $3 per child per session.
  • Upward Sports parents are welcome to attend during Tuesday soccer practices.

Session Topics:

 Week 1  l  Mar 26 

Strong belief…that your role matters. Parents have incredible influence on their children.

24/7 Role Model…children learn from observing parents as their primary role models

Week 2  l  Apr 2:

Encouraging Words…good words are like food for one’s soul. Use positive words to nourish your children.

Genuine Affection…regular expressions of affection and warmth foster emotionally healthy kids.

Week 3  l  Apr 9:

Consistent Presence…it makes a statement that you care about your child’s world.

Peaceful Home…a source of escape from the chaos of the world. A peaceful home is a safe home.

Week 4  l  Apr 16:

Delicate Discipline…is a sign of love. Both are acts of genuine care and concern.

Activate Responsibility…give kids significant opportunities to practice healthy independence.

Week 5  l  Apr 23:

Positive Memories…there are no perfect parents or families, but positive memories can outweigh the bad

Serious Fun…kids feel enormous pressure to perform and succeed. Lighten up, smile, and relax to nurture fun and laughter.
