Blue Springs Director of Student Ministries (Part time, 10-15 Hours, Salaried)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction for all programming in Rezlife Blue Springs Student Ministries for students in 6th through 12th grades. Ministry programming includes youth groups, small groups, confirmation, Sunday School, mission trips, and special events (i.e. camps, retreats). Serve as the lead communicator for Rezlife Blue Springs programs and events.
  • Provide strategic ministry planning and visioning, including setting goals and direction, establishing new ministry opportunities, and evaluating existing programs.
  • Provide leadership and direction for evangelism and marketing to attract more students.
  • Recruit and train volunteers necessary for effective ministry.
  • Foster networking among campuses, local churches, and youth workers.

Main qualifications:

  • Effective program builder with prior experience working with students in 6th through 12th grade.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with proven track record of developing quality relationships; a recognized aptitude for interpersonal engagement, structured dialogue, and diplomacy.
  • Flexible, dedicated, dependable, and highly motivated with a growing expertise of youth culture.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative and management skills, with ability to coordinate events and projects.

Leawood: Director of Matthew's Ministry - Special Needs Ministry (Full time, Salaried, Benefits Eligible)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, mentor, manage, motivate, and equip staff, volunteers, and student leaders to effectively mobilize Matthew’s Ministry to reach and engage the special needs community.
  • Provide leadership and direction for Matthew’s Ministry programming by implementing strategic planning and visioning, evaluating existing programs, establishing new ministry opportunities, setting ministry goals and direction, and leading new and existing processes with the Matthew’s Ministry staff.
  • Develop policies and lesson plans appropriately to ensure that the ministry is caring for the individual needs of each participant.
  • Research and evaluate processes, programming, and curriculum that best reaches and teaches students with special needs.
  • Impact special needs ministry beyond Church of the Resurrection through speaking, networking, and publishing.

Main qualifications:

  • Advanced Special Education training or related field with extensive experience in behavior management, autism, and employee management.
  • A passion for leading participants with special needs to faith in Christ and a willingness to connect with them and their families to help facilitate their spiritual growth.
  • Capable of relevant communication with participants, parents, family members, volunteers, and staff, including speaking to and leading large groups in a program setting.
  • Creative and fresh thinking and an effective facilitator of meaningful change.

Leawood: Pastor/Director of Student Ministries (Salaried, Full-Time, Benefits Eligible)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide long-range strategic planning and visioning for Student Ministry and lead processes with the staff team to set ministry goals and direction, establish new ministry opportunities, evaluate existing programs and launch new initiatives
  • Provide leadership and direction for Student Ministry programming, including weekly youth group, Sunday school, small groups, service and missions, and special events
  • Provide leadership and direction for effective outreach and evangelism to attract more students into our programs and the life of the church
  • Research and evaluate processes, programming, and curriculum that best supports our purpose of creating deeply committed teenagers
  • Design, launch, and maintain a ministry initiative that ministers directly to college-age people in our church and community
  • Impact Student Ministry beyond our church through speaking, networking, and publishing

 Main qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5-7 years of experience in student ministries or any equivalent combination of education and experience.  A Master of Divinity degree is preferred
  • Above average communication skills with students, parents, volunteers and staff, including speaking to and leading large groups in a variety of program settings
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven track record of developing quality relationships; a recognized aptitude for interpersonal engagement, structured dialogue, and diplomacy
  • Flexible, dedicated, dependable, and highly motivated with a growing expertise of youth culture
  • Creative and forward thinker who can facilitate meaningful change
  • Active in making connections with adults to recruit, train, and disciple them as volunteer leaders
  • Understanding large church dynamics; effective administrator of large-scale processes and systems
  • Proficient in communicating via digital media of all types

Leawood: Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Part time, 25 hours, Hourly)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on care and support for adult participants with special needs.
  • Partner with SALP Coordinator, and Team Leads to encourage each learner’s engagement in program activities to their full potential.
  • Assists in a variety of SALP programs including devotion, bakery, art, music, community service, and enrichment activities.
  • Fosters good communication with adult learners with special needs, caregivers, volunteers and staff team.
  • Available to work 10am-3pm, M-F

Main qualifications:

  • Proven ability and prior experience working with adults with special needs including autism, down syndrome, learning disabilities and other cognitive and/or physical disabilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to model for and assign tasks to volunteers.
