What is BBM?
Building Better Moms (BBM) strives to build a community of moms who learn, grow and serve together. BBM members meet together in a larger group setting, but are connected with a small group of moms with whom they share a table at each BBM meeting throughout the year. The BBM calendar follows the school calendar year, beginning in September and concluding in May. The schedule is set to align as much as possible with area school and holiday schedules. BBM meetings run about two hours in length and each group meets approximately twice a month to enjoy food and fellowship, speakers, and group discussion. All groups also participate in mission projects supported by Church of the Resurrection West and occasional social events outside of the meeting schedule.

Everything Happens for a Reason by Kate Bowler-
Facilitated by Darcy Carlstedt and Kristen Brown
Kate Bowler is a professor at Duke Divinity School with a modest Christian upbringing, but she specializes
in the study of the prosperity gospel, a creed that sees fortune as a blessing from God and misfortune as a mark of God’s disapproval. At thirty-five, she is diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer and the prospect of her own mortality forces Kate to realize that she has been tacitly subscribing to the prosperity gospel, living with the conviction that she can control the shape of her life with “a surge of determination.”
Frank and funny, dark and wise, Kate Bowler pulls the reader deeply into her life in an account she populates affectionately with a colorful, often hilarious retinue of friends, mega-church preachers, relatives, and doctors. Everything Happens for a Reason tells her story, offering up her irreverent, hard-won observations on dying and the ways it has taught her to live.
The Faithful by Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, Kelly Minter, Jennifer Rothschild and Lisa Harper- Facilitated by Kathy Shilling and Toni Stout
Borrowing from best-selling studies by Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, Lisa Harper, Kelly Minter, and Jennifer Rothschild, this study explores crucial moments in the lives of five Old Testament figures—Esther, Gideon, Malachi, Nehemiah, and Hosea. Through their stories, discover how God uses the lives of ordinary people for His glory and the good of His people. Strengthen your faith as you walk alongside these larger-than-life figures who all chose to obey God no matter the circumstances.

"I feel a sisterhood and camaraderie with the other women. It is so heartwarming to share my faith, my questions, and my concerns, and know that no one is judging."
"I cannot begin to tell you how much I got out of our Thursday sessions and my homework. I found myself craving to read the Bible and looking forward to our Thursday class."
