Resurrection West,

This Sunday Pastor Adam concludes the Christianity & World Religions series focusing on Christianity. What do we believe? Why? Who do you know that's wondered what it means to be a Christian? Invite them to join you in worship this Sunday as we gather at 8 am, 9:30 am, 11 am, & 5 pm to grow as followers of Christ!

Lent Begins Next Week

And then plan to begin the season of Lent as we gather next Wednesday night, February 14, at 7 pm for Ash Wednesday worship. We will share praise in song, prayers, and the imposition of the ashes. I will be preaching, inviting us into a time of reflection in our lives as we begin this season of Lent. We will have an opportunity to write down our sins (personally and confidentially) and then toss them into the fire as we leave the Sanctuary. Packets will be available for children to help understand God’s forgiveness when we make mistakes. Childcare will be available for Pre-K and under.

We hope you will plan now to join us for this Lenten Journey beginning with Ash Wednesday to Easter when we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ! Below is the Lenten schedule.

Lenten Journey 2018

  • Palm Sunday Palm Parade: March 25
  • Maundy Thursday Worship Experience: March 29, 7 pm
  • Good Friday Day of Prayer: March 30, 7 am - 7 pm
  • Saturday Easter Egg Hunt: March 31, 3:30 pm
  • Saturday Easter Worship: March 31, 2 & 5 pm
  • Sunday Easter Worship: April 1, 8 am, 9:30 am, 11:15 am, 5 pm

You will notice we’ve added an additional service on Easter Saturday before the Egg Hunt. For the past three years, the largest service of the weekend has been the Saturday evening service at 5 pm following the Egg Hunt. This is great, so we’ve now added a service before it.

Our hope is that many of you will invite friends to the Egg Hunt and worship after as an outreach opportunity. You’ve done this in record numbers the last few years. To make room for this effort, we also need many of you to consider worshiping before the Egg Hunt at 2 pm, to make room for the many guests and visitors who will stay after the Egg hunt at 5 pm worship. Consider this a missional act as we make room for all here at Resurrection West!

With a grateful heart,

Jason Gant
