Resurrection West,

Happy Valentine's Day! It’s wonderful to be writing to you today after serving in Honduras with our men’s team. We even watched the Chiefs win the Super Bowl from Tegucigalpa, Honduras! I'll be leading a team again at the end of February 2022, so consider joining me, fellas! Here are some pics from our time serving and growing in faith alongside our United Methodist brothers in El Obraje, Tegucigalpa, and Ciudad Espana.

On Sunday, Pastor Scott Chrostek will conclude the series on Jesus’ power and love. I hope to see everyone in worship at 8 am, 9:30 am, 11 am, and 5 pm. Make plans now to come out and serve this Saturday from 9-11:30 am. All ages are welcome and no signup is necessary for Serve Saturday every month!

This past Sunday in worship we celebrated with Lindsay Hefner, our Director of Worship Arts, and Caleb Blacksher as Lindsay shared their engagement story. Caleb plays and sings often in our morning and evening worship bands. If you missed worship, you can view their engagement story video on our facebook page. I'm so excited for them both.

Lent Begins with our Ash Wednesday Service

Lent will begin in the next couple of weeks, kicking off with an Ash Wednesday service on Feb. 26 at 7pm. It will be my privilege to preach that evening as we gather to worship with corporate prayer, imposition of the ashes, beautiful music, and an opportunity to burn our sins as we leave in silence. There will be no rezlife youth group gatherings that night, but we want to encourage all students to come and worship with their family.

Make plans now to begin the Lenten journey together with our Ash Wednesday service, then be a part of our Tuesday night Lenten study (March 3–31), which will be led by Dave Robertson, Pastor Chris, Pastor John, and myself. We will read and study Pastor Adam’s book The Walk as we explore the five essential practices of the Christian life with large group teaching, table discussion, and desserts. Childcare is available, so register now by clicking here and join us as we grow together this Lent.

We also have some new events planned for the week leading up to Easter as we remember Christ’s final supper with meal events in restaurants around our community on Maundy Thursday evening. We will have a day of prayer on Good Friday (along with walking our prayer trail) and Easter weekend’s celebration of the Resurrection with six Easter worship services and the annual Easter Egg Hunt. This Lenten season will be a powerful time to strengthen our faith and embrace Christ's love together as the church!

Looking forward to worshipping with you on Sunday,

Pastor Jason Gant
