Thanks to the Harvest Crew and over 200 volunteers who served with joy to welcome over a thousand people to this year’s Fall Festival! What an incredible turnout, especially considering the rainy weather and moving everything indoors. You can see tons of great pics from the Festival on our Facebook page.
We welcomed many guests to our church campus, including some who came to worship the next day. One of our Harvest Crew leaders greeted a first-time family in KiDSCOR Sunday School that she had personally welcomed the night before at Fall Fest – so cool. If you're reading this and are new to our church, we are so glad you're here and hope you will consider making us your faith home!
On Sunday, Pastor Adam and Rabbi Art Nemitoff continue teaching together in this inspirational series on King David from the Holy Land. This Sunday they will enlighten our understanding of one of the most known stories in all of scripture: David and Goliath. You will not want to miss this Sunday!
It is said that the Holy Land is the "Fifth Gospel." When we read and understand scripture from the places it was written, it becomes more rich and meaningful in our lives. That’s why I hope you will consider joining with me on a journey to the Holy Land one year from now. We are still finalizing the specific dates (usually 10-days in all), however it will be in the second half of October 2019, returning home before Oct. 31. If you are interested in going, please email my assistant, Debbie Dietz, at email@example.com to add your name to the list of potential sojourners. Look for detailed brochures to be out in the next few weeks.
Finally, we have an awesome Serve Saturday planned this weekend, along with a serve team at Central UMC providing lunch to those in need and a crew working on a home through Christmas in October, a local nonprofit partnership we have. Come on out Saturday morning to serve, meeting in the Sanctuary from 9-11:30 am. All ages are welcome!
With a grateful heart,
