Did you know that SNAP and WIC funds (commonly known as food stamps) can't be used for non-food purchases, including hygiene and cleaning items? Church of the Resurrection's Partner Schools Ministry continues to distribute food and other necessities to families. At this time they need personal and feminine hygiene products and cleaning supplies.
Donations Needed:
Moisturizing Shampoo
Ethnic/Natural haircare products
Bar soap
Toilet paper (Individually wrapped rolls or 4 pack)
Diapers
Baby wipes
Deodorant
Dish soap
Small liquid laundry detergent (easier for families to transport)
Paper towels
Box of feminine hygiene products
Drop off your donations at any Resurrection campus on Saturday, March 20 from 9:00 - 11:00 am.
Want to volunteer at your campus? Visit our March 20th Serve Saturday sign-up and look for "Collect Personal Care Items for KCPS Kids"
Not able or available to donate in person? You can help families get the products they need by purchasing items from our Partner Schools Amazon Wishlist. Be sure to select "Gift Registry Address" when you checkout and your donation will be shipped directly to our team.

Our Partner School Ministry has continued to serve our nine partner schools and their families, even when students have not been meeting in the classrooms. We anticipate that the coming school year will see an increased call for in-school volunteers to provide one-on-one attention to help students who struggled with online learning.
Learn about what's been happening over the past year and how you can join the team and help students in the coming school year. Although our return to in-school service is still on the horizon, learning about the ministry now will give you time to gain certification and required training for working with youth.
This meeting is open to all Resurrection locations. Click here to register for the March 31 virtual class.

Resurrection Overland Park is excited to introduce our partner school, Apache Elementary, which is located just a few blocks from the church in the Shawnee Mission School District.
Apache has a very diverse population with 600 students pre-k through 6th grade and 80 staff members. We look forward to providing them with school supplies, visits from the Bookmobile, mentoring and reading with students, staff appreciation and much more. If you are interested in being a part of this new ministry of Resurrection OP please contact Jenny.nehrbass@cor.org.
COVID-19 Update: We are currently reviewing our processes to be sure everyone is as safe as possible. Volunteers should be prepared to take precautions and answer a short questionnaire to help with this process.
Join the team of drivers and volunteers that keep the bookmobile rolling and help kids select books to keep and enjoy.
Drivers typically serve for 4-5 hours during regular business hours and occasionally some evenings and weekends. Serve as often or as little as your schedule allows. Must be 21 years of age with good driving record. Please contact Linda Warne to learn more about driving our bookmobile.
Bookmobile volunteers help students in need select a "just right" book they can keep and add to their home libraries. Contact Ann Carter to learn how you can serve with the Resurrection Bookmobile.
To get involved, please plan to attend an upcoming Cultural Competency Training and complete the Safe Gatherings application process. Both trainings are available online. Bookmobile volunteers must be 16 or older. More information & upcoming dates are available on our Partner Schools Cultural Competency Training page.

Church of the Resurrection believes strongly in the power of education. Nelson Mandela stated, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” The best tool to defeat future poverty is to equip the next generation to learn and lead. This is why we at Resurrection believe in supporting children & schools here in Kansas City and around the world.
