Resurrection Overland Park Early Learning Center

A high-quality early childhood program within a warm and loving Christian environment.

Welcome to Resurrection Overland Park Early Learning Center!

We understand that selecting an early childhood program is one of the most important decisions you will make in the life of your child. For many of your children, this will be their first experience away from home. We want that experience to be rich and meaningful for your child and your family.

At Resurrection Overland Park ELC, we start with a safe and healthy environment that promotes the health and well-being of children. Our staff has the heart, knowledge and professional commitment necessary to support children's learning and development while meeting the diverse needs of families. We promote positive relationships for children and adults as we strive to sponsor a feeling of mutual respect and community.

We have selected a curriculum that fosters all areas of development - cognitive, language, emotional, social and physical. We also work to encourage your child's creativity and spirit of inquiry. Our approach to teaching should be respectful of your child's development and cultural background. Ongoing observation and review fo your child's learning and development will help us communicate with you about your child's progress as we meet the needs of each child as an individual.

We invite you to become participants in our early childhood program and community. We offer a variety of school activities for families to experience together throughout the year. Your presence is the most important gift you can give your child.

As a ministry of The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, we also extend an invitation to you to participate in the life of the church. More information on the church and its ministries can be found in the Parent Resource Center.

Thank you for choosing us to care for your child. We look forward to partnering with you in this amazing journey called childhood!

Our Philosophy

Resurrection Overland Park ELC supports the growth of the whole child. Our staff works to facilitate the development of self-esteem within each child through the expression of respect, love, comfort and community. We foster each child's development of self-control and plan for increasing independence as they acquire kills. With the guidance of The High-Scope early childhood curriculum, we offer a variety of developmentally appropriate experiences in art, music, movement, science, literacy and math. At Resurrection Overland Park ELC, children learn what they need to know to be autonomous individuals with a life-long love of learning.

Our emphasis is on helping each child discover his/her interests and abilities. Exploration, experimentation and creative activities are encouraged. Children are free to learn comfortably from failures and successes in a positive environment. Classes are large enough to provide children with opportunities to make friends, yet small enough to give each child individual attention when needed. Christian principles are woven into the fabric of our community through respectful adult interactions, chapel times, and daily exposure to prayers, Bible stories, and faith based songs.

The Enrollment Fee confirms your child's space, and helps offset the cost of Bloomz (our classroom communications app), yearly playground maintenance (re-mulching, fence maintenance, etc.), extra staff to update and maintain children's files for licensing, teacher trainings, and larger classroom supplies like shelving, play kitchen units, etc.

Activity Fees, charged later in the school year, help cover events such as the Fall Festival, in-house and offsite Field Trips, Music and Spanish classes, Holiday carnivals and gift supplies, Field Day, t-shirts, and more.
