Hi Resurrection Overland Park,

It’s the Advent season! Claire and I set up our Christmas tree in the front window with Adalynn, who loved playing with the lights and ornaments. This is her first Advent and Christmas season which feels so very special to us. As I watch her, I am inspired to live with a bit more wonder and joy during this season. Which reminds me, wear your ugliest Christmas sweater to worship this weekend as we continue our Advent series, The Journey. We may even have a prize for BEST UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER! It’s going to be festive and fun.

I love this season and we have a lot of fun planned for the whole family. This Saturday, invite your family and friends to our KiDSCOR Merry Little Christmas event Saturday December 4 from 9:30-11:30am. We are planning an exciting experience that will include a live nativity, photo opportunities and fun, including a visit from Santa! Then, sign up to join us Wednesday, December 8 beginning at 6 pm at our location (8412 W. 95th). I’m excited for good ol' Christmas caroling in the areas around our church, including hot chocolate and s'mores when we return. Let us know you are coming to sing so we can plan our routes by registering HERE.

Again, I want to say thank you to those of you who submitted your pledges for the coming year. If you haven’t yet had the chance, you can send yours in here. As a simple thank you, plan to pick up your new coffee mug after each Sunday worship service or during office hours, Monday through Thursday, 10:30 am - 3:30 pm. I am often inspired by your generosity and the ways you give that are sacrificial. You help us live out our purpose to build Christian community where non-religious and nominally religious people become deeply committed Christians.

See you this weekend! I can’t wait to see your awesomely ugly sweaters!
