Hi Resurrection Overland Park,

I hope your morning is off to a good start. I was up early this morning for an awesome sunrise over Downtown KC. Frequently, I join a few friends to run loops around the Downtown airport (it is very flat). The sunrise was splendid so I thought I'd share to inspire your morning.

This Weekend in Worship and KiDSCOR

We are thrilled to welcome Bishop Michael Curry as our guest preacher this weekend! Bishop Curry is the first African American to serve as presiding bishop in The Episcopal Church. You may recognize him as the officiant of the Royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. He also spoke at Leadership Institute this year.

This weekend, he'll encourage us to love our neighbor related to racial justice. We will also share in communion online and in-person (with specific safety protocol).

If you plan to join us this Sunday for in-person worship at 11 am, please let us know by registering at or using this link.

We will offer full KiDSCOR, infant through 5th grade. Registration is required so that we can ensure the correct amount of space and supervision. Please sign up here for KiDSCOR and Nursery. Note that face masks must be worn at all times (ages 2 and over). For a complete list of our health and safety procedures in our classrooms, please click here. You will be able to register for KiDSCOR starting every Monday morning.

If you are not able to join us in person, you can join us online Saturday at 5 pm, Sunday at 7:30 am, 9:15 am, 11 am, or 5 pm at You can also join the worship broadcast on Channel 38 “The Spot” (KMCI) at 8 am and 11 am.

Rezlife Students Returns Wednesday, October 21!

Join Rezlife Director Leah Miller for in-person programming on Wednesday nights for Rezlife youth group starting October 21. Middle schoolers 6th - 8th grade will meet 6:00 to 7:00 pm. High schoolers will meet 7:30 to 8:30 pm.

Per safety and health requirements, all students who attend in-person programs must pre-register every week. Here is the link. Space is limited! Click here to review the Rezlife in-person programming protocols.

#LoveYourNeighbor and Serve Others

The 30 for 30 Food Drive continues! Donate either 30 lbs. of food or $30 to purchase food that will be distributed through our food pantry at Resurrection Overland Park. Drive-thru food drop-offs are at each of our campuses, including Resurrection Overland Park, Saturday, Oct. 17, 9-11 am.

See the shopping list for 30 lbs. of food here. In addition to the items on this list, our pantry is also in need of baby wipes and diapers, size 3 and up. You can also pick up your pre-ordered t-shirts and yard signs, too.

With 30 Acts of Kindness in 30 Days, we are striving to flood our community with random acts of kindness as an expression of our faith.

Join us in the challenge to share the love right up through the elections and beyond! Find ideas here.

Socially Distant Trunk or Treat Event Next Weekend!

We are planning for a safe, socially distanced Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 24, 4-6 pm. Children can come in costume and do a scavenger hunt through our Treat Street. Every child will get a pre-packed bag of candy and caramel apple kit and have the opportunity to visit our pumpkin patch and photo booth.

We know trick or treat activities with children will look different this year and so we want to create a safe, socially distanced event for families! If you want to help, sign up with your preferred role here. Thank you for helping us provide this fun event for our community.

I am looking forward to my day today. I am preparing for an off-site wedding this weekend for a couple who postponed their wedding from earlier this spring. So many have had to adapt in the last several months, but I know they are excited to finally celebrate their wedding day. I hope you have a good Friday. I'll see you this weekend!

In Christ,

Joshua Clough
