Hi Resurrection Overland Park,

I hope you're enjoying the start to your weekend! Claire and I appreciate your prayers for our baby girl, Adalynn. She continues to grow, day by day. She gained another 20 grams overnight. For us, right now, life is measured in grams! We are grateful for your prayers and the way you care for us.

Earlier this week, a group of 70 of our elected church leaders met by Zoom. I'm excited to share that our leaders agreed to return to in-person worship. We continue to monitor the COVID numbers for the Kansas City area on a daily basis, and like you, we've seen a drop in new cases and hospitalizations. Most area school districts are returning to in-person learning and restrictions are easing in most municipalities.

After much discussion and consideration, we are excited to announce that we plan to return to in-person worship on Sunday, March 14 with two services at 9 and 11 am at each campus.

Our plan is to open with much of the same protocol we used when we opened in October. This will include reduced capacity (50%), masks and physical distancing will be required, and the services will be touchless (no bulletins, offering plates, or greeting). We will provide nursery care at each service, but KiDSCOR will begin after Easter. Additionally, we'll plan for other programs to begin after Easter.

Larger groups, such as the choir, will not return until later this spring or fall as we seek to maintain social distancing until that is no longer needed. If you are not comfortable returning just yet, that is okay, we look forward to continuing to worship with you online. For others ready to gather in-person, I am looking forward to seeing you during Lent, and of course, for Easter.

This Weekend in Worship

We continue our Lenten series in the Gospel of Mark. Pastor Adam will share a message entitled "Calling, Healing and Casting Out Demons." Join us Saturday (5 pm) or Sunday (7:30 am, 9:15 am, 11 am, or 5 pm) at cor.org/live or on Channel 38 "The Spot" at 8 am or 11 am. You can also tune in on our YouTube Channel on-demand all day Sunday. Together, we are walking through the Gospel of Mark and learning to walk with Jesus along the way.

Lenten Study - The Gospel of Mark

It is not too late to join the Lenten study! We have two options for you to participate. First, you can join Resurrection pastors online on Wednesday nights for the All Church study of Mark’s gospel. Each week one of our pastors will offer a 30-minute teaching, followed by about 30 minutes of live, interactive conversation via Zoom. I’ll lead the class this coming Wednesday and hope to see many of you! Go to cor.org/next for more info and to request the Zoom link. You can also watch last week's class with Pastor Cheryl here.

Second, join me and our Pastoral Resident Karissa Miller on Thursday evenings via zoom. Karissa kicked us off last week and I look forward to joining in this week. This is a good way to connect with others from Resurrection Overland Park! To prepare for class each week, it's helpful (but not required) to watch the week's sermon and read the daily Scripture readings listed in the journal. We will meet online on Thursdays, 7- 8:15 pm. Register here for the class and you'll receive a zoom link on Thursday morning.

Plan to study along in the Gospel of Mark with us in worship, in a class or small group, and in your personal study. You can find the Lent Journal online and print it at home here.

Save the Date for our Easter Egg Hunt!

Join us for an outdoor, safe-distanced Egg-Venture on Saturday, March 27, 10 am to 12 pm. Walk through an interactive path full of egg-citing thinks to see and do! You'll go on an egg-cellent egg hunt while gathering special crafts, treats, and goodies along the way! You might even spy the Easter Bunny and his friends throughout.

Please register to let us know you're coming! We can't wait!

COR Worship Collective - New Music Releases

You might want to check this out! Each week leading up to Easter, the COR Worship Collective will release a newly recorded music video on Thursdays, and a new single on Fridays. To view the new music videos on Thursdays, stay tuned to our Facebook page. On Fridays, find the new single on the COR Worship Collective Spotify page, or anywhere you listen or stream music.

With so much gratitude and love,

Joshua
