Hi Resurrection Overland Park,

I hope you are having a good week. I am writing this message to you from a coffee shop. In the last few weeks, I've ventured out to the local coffee shops, with my mask, and met with people in Downtown OP. As you know, I love coffee and coffee shops so it feels good to be out and about meeting with others while still having a bit of distance between us. And today is a good day for a warm cup of coffee, tea, or apple cider.

Take a few minutes to read below. We have a few great things coming up, including Trunk or Treat tomorrow!

This Weekend in Worship

Pastor Adam continues our #LoveYourNeighbor series with a message called, "A Sheep or a Goat: Loving Your Neighbor in Need." We'll focus on the call for kindness and justice and how, by doing these things, we become the hands and feet of Jesus to help transform our neighborhoods and world.

You can join us in-person this Sunday for worship at 11 am, please let us know by registering at cor.org/next or using this link.

KiDSCOR is back! Registration is required and space is limited so please sign up here. Note that face masks must be worn at all times (ages 3 and over). For a complete list of our health and safety procedures in our classrooms, please click here.

If you are not able to join us in person, you can join us online Saturday at 5 pm, Sunday at 7:30 am, 9:15 am, 11 am, or 5 pm at cor.org/live. You can also join the worship broadcast on Channel 38 “The Spot” (KMCI) at 8 am and 11 am.

Upcoming Events

We have several upcoming events, classes, and groups that you may find engaging, including Trunk or Treat, and a new November class. Claire and I are planning to be at Trunk or Treat with a super fun trunk.

Trunk or Treat is Tomorrow!

We have a safe, socially distant Trunk or Treat Event tomorrow, Saturday, October 24 from 4 - 6 pm. Park in the lot and plan to walk through the socially distant trunks. Children can come in costume and participate in a scavenger hunt through "Treat Street." Every child will get a pre-packed bag of candy and caramel apple kit and have the opportunity to visit our pumpkin patch and photo booth. We hope to see you there!

Blood Drive: Nov. 2, 2–7 pm

Participate in our next Blood Drive. Blood is the most precious gift that anyone can give to another person - the gift of life. We will be hosting a blood drive at our campus on November 2, from 2:00 - 7:00 pm. Click here to register for your appointment.

Join us in the challenge to share the love right up through the elections and beyond! Find ideas here.

Food Pantry

I am looking forward to seeing you online and in-person this weekend. Thank you for the incredible ways you are serving, giving, and caring for others. I enjoyed running into a few of you who stopped by the church to volunteer in the Food Pantry, many of you prepared Trunk or Treat bags for kids, and a couple of you regularly walk by the church as part of your morning walk and prayer route. Keep on loving your neighbor!

In Christ,

Joshua
