Hello Resurrection Overland Park,

What an incredible week for Kansas City! Not only did the Chiefs win the Super Bowl but the entire city was abuzz with joy, excitement, and revelry. School was canceled, and many people took off work, so at Resurrection Overland Park we decided to open up our church and invite anyone to join us for a watch party. We had 175 adults and kids at our campus cheering together while the parade happened.

If you didn’t make it (or ended up downtown), I thought you might like to see a photo or two. I loved seeing so many kids!

The Magnetic Life and Love of Jesus

I’ll preach live at our campus this weekend, and I’d love for you to be there because I want to help us capture the excitement and joy in our city, something that seems so irresistible, as it relates to how we practice loving kindness. The irresistible life and love of Jesus can inspire and help us discover the impossible power of God. I think you’ll find inspiration. Bring a friend!

The Blood Drive was a Huge Success!

Last Monday, we hosted our second ever blood drive and it was a wonderful success because of you. We beat our record, giving 32 pints of blood, which will meet the needs of more than 100 people. Thank you to each of you for stepping up to save a life.

Also, the Sack Hunger Food Drive brought in more than 2,400 pounds of food that will go to serving families through our food pantry. Thank you! In the month of January we served 123 households, which includes 415 individuals. This month we are integrating a gas voucher program in the Food Pantry as part of the resources available to people in our community.

Serve Saturday Coming Up

Mark your calendar for the next Resurrection Overland Park Serve Saturday on Feb. 22. Each month we try to serve our community through various projects or working with partner agencies. This month, in addition to having serve opportunities at our campus, we’ll be sending people to serve at Blessings Abound Thrift Store and Shawnee Community Services.

I plan to set aside time Saturday morning to jump in on the action. It is also a good opportunity for your family to serve together. Click here for more details about serving opportunities and to register for Serve Saturday.

There are several opportunities to connect, serve, and jump into community life. Take a look below. I am grateful for you, Resurrection Overland Park. I love the joy with which you care for others, welcome many, and practice your faith. I'm looking forward to seeing you this weekend!

In Christ,

Joshua Clough
