I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend! I enjoyed the Monday off with Claire and Adalynn. We spent the afternoon in a neighbor’s backyard, enjoying the pool and a few burgers. Adalynn especially enjoyed the pool. She has a floatie she loves and has learned to splash around in the water. As we conclude the summer months, I want to invite you to reconnect, get plugged in, and join us at Resurrection Overland Park.

I want to share with you that we are kicking off a Resurrection Recovery Group at our location. I am excited about this ministry because it provides a pathway to restoration and healing. Whatever you are dealing with, you are not alone!

This week, Pastor Adam will join Tom Langhofer, Resurrection Pastor of Recovery Ministries, for the fall kick-off of Resurrection Recovery and support groups on Thursday, September 9. You can participate in person in the Foundry in Building B of the Leawood Campus or online at Arrive at 5:30 pm for fellowship and pizza. Pastor Tom will share his testimony of overcoming addiction to alcohol that almost cost him his family, career, and life and how he maintained his faith and sobriety through the tragic loss of his daughter Erin two years ago.

Our Overland Park group will resume meeting on Thursdays on September 16 in Room 2. Contact Sandy Thailing for more details or visit to join online.

There are additional support groups you can find online here. Whatever you are dealing with, know that you are not alone! We want to be your church family and walk with you on your journey towards healing and wholeness.

Last Wednesday, as I concluded the evening teaching on the Book of Romans, I walked out as people were leaving the Food Pantry, and others from our AA groups were gathering to say goodbye before heading home. I couldn’t help but think this is what the church is all about! I found joy in knowing that people find a community here, connect more deeply with Christ, and journey toward wholeness. I am grateful for you, Resurrection Overland Park!

In Christ,

Joshua Clough
