Each year, around this time - when the Chiefs are playing championship football - we hold our biggest food drive of the year to support Kansas City families and individuals who are dealing with food insecurity. Become a champion for hunger by joining us today!
In Johnson and Wyandotte County, Ks and Jackson County, Mo, over 158,000 people lived in poverty in 2022. An annual poverty line income of $27,750 for a family of 4 couldn’t cover 2022’s 10% rise is food costs. With an additional food cost increase of 4.5% expected this year, these people desperately need our help.
The cost to feed a family of 4 on a low-cost meal plan in 2023 equates to:
A Family of 4 living in poverty earns $27,750 annually (less 11% tax rate).
Your monetary gifts offer our pantry partners the ability to purchase and distribute meat, dairy, and fresh produce for those struggling with food insecurity. It’s only through your generosity that we are able to continue helping our partner pantries in these communities to keep their doors open.
Pick up a bag on January 29 at all of our locations and donate food items:
Please no expired, dented or glass donations.
Please return donations bags to your preferred Resurrection location by February 19th.

Our Hunger Ministry team works to provide supplemental funding to partner pantries throughout the KC area. Our support allows pantries to purchase meat, dairy, and fresh produce for their clients in need. All of this is made possible through donations from within the church, special food drives, and monetary donations. With your help, we are bridging the meal gap for more than 430,000 people in our region.
