Adult/Jr. Mentor Registration

Registration for 2019-2020 Confirmation has closed. If you have any questions, you can email confirmation@cor.org.

Our Parent/Student Kickoff Event is Sunday, September 29, at 1:00 PM in the Student Center (Building C).

What is Confirmation?

Confirmation is the time in a student’s life when they claim faith for themselves. Through Confirmation, students have the opportunity to explore their faith by asking questions, digging deeper, serving others, and learning more about God and the Church. They will journey alongside committed adult and student mentors and a small group of their peers. At the end of Confirmation, they will be invited to make a public commitment to Christ and become a full member of our church community.

Confirmation is more than just a rite of passage or a one-time commitment. It is the first official step in a life-long journey to following Christ and serving God’s Church. You do not need to already be a member of Church of the Resurrection to join in the Confirmation Journey.

By far, the most important part of Confirmation is the small group experience. Many small groups choose to continue meeting long after Confirmation is over. Students will be joined together in grade and gender-specific small groups alongside adult mentors and student mentors. We are unfortunately unable to form small groups based on friend requests, but if you have any group concerns or needs for your student, please email confirmation@cor.org.

2019 Confirmation for Parents Class

In Confirmation for Parents, you'll be able to experience the same message and speakers that your students are hearing in Confirmation. It meets during weekly Confirmation sessions, and it gives you the chance to be in community with other Confirmation parents.

This class is only available for parents of 2019-2020 Confirmation students.

Acolyte or Banner Carrier

All Confirmands are required to serve during worship as an acolyte or banner carrier three times during the 2019-20 schedule. You do not have to complete all three dates prior to the Confirmation ceremony, but you do need to be signed up to serve.

There is also a registration event titled Acolyte Registration 2019-2020 11 am Service. Students should only register for one of these services because it's during the Confirmation class.

Confirmation Co-Mentor

Confirmation would not happen without our awesome adult volunteers serving as Confirmation Mentors! A mentor is not someone who knows all the answers, but helps guide students to discover their own. We would love to have you join us as a Confirmation Mentor for 2019-20.
