Confirmation is the time in a student’s life when they claim faith for themselves. Through Confirmation, students have the opportunity to explore their faith by asking questions, digging deeper, serving others, and learning more about God and the Church. They will journey alongside committed adult and student mentors and a small group of their peers. At the end of Confirmation, they will be invited to make a public commitment to Christ and become a full member of our church community.
Confirmation is more than just a rite of passage or a one-time commitment. It is the first official step in a life-long journey to following Christ and serving God’s Church. You do not need to already be a member of Church of the Resurrection to join in the Confirmation Journey.
By far, the most important part of Confirmation is the small group experience. Many small groups choose to continue meeting long after Confirmation is over. Students will be joined together in grade and gender-specific small groups alongside adult mentors and student mentors. We are unfortunately unable to form small groups based on friend requests, but if you have any group concerns or needs for your student, please email confirmation@cor.org.
