Confirmation is not simply a “rite of passage” or just a class to complete. It is a step in a life-long journey of pursuing the heights, depths and widths of God’s love and making a vow to live in relationship with Jesus for the rest of our lives! You do not need to be a member of Church of the Resurrection to join us on the Confirmation Journey.
The Confirmation Ceremony is the students' first public affirmation of the faith of the church as being their own faith. The Confirmand is taking responsibility for living as a member of the body of Christ and for fulfilling God's purposes. This includes building relationships with peers and adults who will support them in their faith. We strongly believe this is done through small group relationships long after Confirmation is over.
Small groups are gender and grade specific. All students are put into small groups with 3 mentors. No friend requests made for groups, however, we will make all effort to put students in groups according to feeder high school area. Please let Taylor Ogden Thomas know BY SEPT 10 when registration closes if you have any group concerns or needs for your student.
I learned more than I ever thought I would. In my small group there was no judgment, it felt open and comfortable. We accepted each other and grew close quickly- we were like family.Confirmation Student
Requirements for the 2018-2019 school year include:
Take the youth-friendly assessment by clicking here (it should take about 10-15 minutes) and bring your results with you to Confirmation on Feb. 3, 2019.
Acolytes are an important part of our worship at Resurrection. Here is what you can expect while serving as an acolyte.
All Confirmands are required to serve during worship as an acolyte or banner carrier three times during the 2018-19 schedule. You do not have to complete all three dates prior to the confirmation ceremony, but you do need to be signed up to serve.
To register, visit the Rezlife calendar and click on Acolyte Registration 2018-2019. This form will allow you to sign up for dates between June 30, 2018 and June 30, 2019. These dates will fill up quickly, so we encourage you to choose your dates now. There is also a registration event titled Acolyte Registration 2018-2019 *11 am Service*. This is for the 11am service during confirmation services. Students should only register for one of these services because it's during the Confirmation class.

Adult mentors and junior mentors (high school students who have been through confirmation) are needed to journey alongside the Confirmands. Confirmation is truly a life changing experience for these students, and their mentor is their guide, encourager, cheerleader, and coach along the way.
You and your co-mentors will lead a small group of students through the provided curriculum. Training and all supplies provided- Mentor training is on Sept. 25th in room C050 5:30-7:30pm. Dinner will be provided.
We are not looking for people with all the answers but someone who will help these young people find their own. Kids can never have to many caring adults in their life.
If you have a student in confirmation you can choose whether you'd like to mentor them.
Confirmation for the 2018-19 School year is on Sundays from 10:40 am - 12:15 pm in Student Center Building C.
For questions about Confirmation Mentor contact Taylor Ogden Thomas at (913) 544-0216, or email using the form below.
