At Resurrection, our purpose is to build a Christian community where non-religious and nominally religious people are becoming deeply committed Christians. This means being the kind of place where everyone can feel at home. For our sisters, brothers, and others in the LGBTQ community, we host several gatherings with a variety of goals.
Maybe you’re looking for a small group to help you dive deeper into your faith. Maybe you’re looking for resources to help you better understand, connect with and care for friends and family. Maybe you just want a safe place to learn, share and grow. No matter where you are, we want to meet you there. You’re in the right place.
Gay Women Abiding is both a community and a small group. We have a fall and spring Bible study where we grow in Christ together. These six session studies vary in topics and materials, and members are asked to try to commit to attendance during the semester they choose to participate. We also have general social events (Coffee in the Park, pot lucks, the Big Picnic at the Nelson, Holiday Party, etc.) These are open to all GWA members, not just those in the Bible study. Most of these community building social events occur during the summer or Holidays.
In response to community health concerns, we have use Zoom, when warranted, to continue meeting or studying together. Otherwise, we meet in person for socials and Bible studies. Our members are all ages and situations in life and all women from our diverse LGBTQIA spectrum are welcome.

Build faith through fellowship and study. Guys and Yahweh provides space for gay Christian men to connect and share in the journey of knowing, loving and serving God and others. Through fellowship, study, worship and service, our small group will strengthen the spiritual discovery and growth of each participant. It is our hope those who have been hurt by previous experiences or have limited church exposure will find a welcome place in our group. As we share the story of our lives with others and see more clearly how our story connects with the larger story of God’s redemptive activity, we make progress toward the goal of becoming deeply committed Christians.
We normally meet on a weekly basis: Monday evenings from 6:30-8pm at the Church of the Resurrection, Overland Park location. More info is on our Meetup site https://www.meetup.com/Guys-and-Yahweh/. We also offer a Zoom option for those who don't feel comfortable meeting in person.
