FaithWork offers a variety of pre-planned serving opportunities for individuals, families and small groups typically on the first and third Saturdays of the month from 9 am - 1 pm. FaithWork is a meaningful way to participate in serving God by serving others and only requires your time and a desire to serve.

Feb. 20th Serving Opportunities on the Leawood Campus
Please arrive and check in between 8:45am & 9am. Onsite serving opportunities are usually completed around 11:30am.

Assemble Meal for GRT Assemble a simple lunch to be delivered to the Gentlemen of the Round Table. Family friendly suitable for all ages 5 years and older accompanied by an adult. Six volunteer spots available, one adult/family needed to deliver meal to KCMO.  Reserve HERE

Make durable Mats for people experiencing Homeless- Make mats out of recycled plastic bags. Family friendly suitable for adults and children 5 years and older accompanied by an adult. Fifty volunteer spots are available. Reserve Here

Learn to Crochet Plarn (plastic yarn). Learn how to crochet recycled plastic bags into mats for persons who are experiencing homelessness. You can learn this skill and make even mats at home. Suitable for adults and children 5 years and older accompanied by an adult. No reservation required.

Knitters for Those in Need No supplies necessary, no skills required. Everything you need will be provided. Make caps for newborns, prayer shawls, etc. (The Spring Coffee Shop) No reservation required.

Feb. 20th

Community serving opportunities usually last until 1pm. Please start at the Leawood campus (8:45am) to check in and pick up the necessary supplies.

Kansas City Rescue Mission Cook and Serve a simple meal for about 60 persons who are homeless. Suitable for adults and youth 12 years and older accompanied by an adult. Six volunteers needed. (1520 Cherry St. KCMO) FULL

Blessings Abound Thrift Shop Help sort clothing, misc. donations, clean, organize and/or work on retail floor. Possible furniture pick-up and delivery. Suitable for adults and youth 12 and older accompanied by an adult. 10 volunteers needed. (10325 Metcalf Ave.) Reserve HERE

Kingswood Senior Living Community Visit and play bingo with residents. Family friendly suitable for all ages 5 years and older accompanied by an adult. Six adult volunteers are needed (you don't need to register the children). (10000 Wornall Rd KCMO)  Reserve Here

Central United Methodist- Help Cook and serve a simple meal for about 90 people. The people you will be breaking bread with come to the meal from a variety of situations including homelessness. Suitable for adults and children 12 and older accompanied by an adult. (933 Argetine, KCK) Reserve HERE

Village Presbyterian Food Pantry Help sort donations. Family friendly suitable for adults and children 8 and older accompanied by an adult. Ten volunteer spots are available. (9960 Mission Road, Shawnee Mission, KS) Reserve HERE

My Father's House Help assemble Kitchen Kits, Cleaning Supplies, Buckets, load furniture and/or other fun and meaningful activities that offer a 'hand up' to those who are in need of household furnishings. Lunch is provided. Suitable for adults and children 8 and older accompanied by an adult. Twenty five volunteers are needed. (2100 Manchester Tfwy, KCMO) Reserve Here

+-What will I do?

There are a variety of opportunities to serve that typically last between two and four hours. You can choose one that takes place on the church campus or beyond the church walls in the Greater Kansas City community.  *Please wear comfortable and modest clothing that is appropriate to the serving environment you will be working in. 

+-How do I sign up?

Click on the "Reserve Here" links found by using the "Calander" tab.  You are welcome to just show up but registration is recommended to ensure your spot for a specific serving opportunity. Contact Stew Curtright if you need assistance registering your group.
