FaithWork offers a variety of pre-planned serving opportunities for individuals, families and small groups typically on the first and third Saturdays of the month from 9 am - 1 pm. FaithWork is a meaningful way to participate in serving God by serving others and only requires your time and a desire to serve. For questions, contact

For all opportunities, please arrive at the Leawood campus Narthex and check in between 8:45am & 9am. Onsite serving opportunities are usually completed around 11:30am; community serving opportunities usually last until 1pm.

*Featured Opportunity! Mission Adelante Spend the morning in this vibrant store which works to create a welcoming community for the refugee and immigrant population in Kansas City. You will be creating displays, sorting donations, and making an impact on the types of families we supported with our Easter Offering. Ages 8+ FULL

Kansas City Rescue Mission Cook and Serve a simple meal for about 60 persons who are homeless. Suitable for adults and youth 12 years and older accompanied by an adult. Six volunteers needed. (1520 Cherry St. KCMO)  Reserve Here

The Heritage of Overland Park Baking cookies with dementia residents and playing board games. Family friendly suitable for children of all ages accompanied by an adult. Fifteen adult volunteer spots are available, you do not have to preregister children under twelve. (10101 W 127th Street OPKS) Reserve Here

Grace United Community Ministries Soup Kitchen Cook and serve a meal for 75. Family friendly suitable for adults and youth 12 years and older accompanied by an adult. Ten volunteers needed. (801 Benton Blvd KCMO) Reserve Here

My Father's House Help assemble Kitchen Kits, Cleaning Supplies, Buckets, load furniture and/or other fun and meaningful activities that offer a 'hand up' to those who are in need of household furnishings. Lunch is provided. Suitable for adults and children 8 and older accompanied by an adult. Twenty five volunteers are needed. (2100 Manchester Tfwy, KCMO) Reserve Here

Assemble Meal for GRT Assemble a simple lunch at the church, to be delivered to the Gentlemen of the Round Table. Four volunteer spots available, one adult/family needed to deliver meal to KCMO when the lunches are packed.  Family friendly suitable for all ages 5 years and older accompanied by an adult . Create Flash Cards for the Juan Wesley School in Honduras Cut out magazine pictures to use with simple sight words to make flash cards in English & Spanish. Twelve spots available, family friendly suitable for all ages 5 years and older accompanied by an adult. Reserve Here

Make Mats for the Homeless Make mats out of recycled plastic bags. Family friendly suitable for adults and children 5 years and older accompanied by an adult. Fifty volunteer spots are available. Reserve Here

Learn to Crochet Plarn (plastic yarn). Learn how to crochet recycled plastic bags into mats for persons who are experiencing homelessness. You can learn this skill and make even mats at home. Suitable for adults and children 5 years and older accompanied by an adult. No reservation required.

Knitters for Those in Need No supplies necessary, no skills required. Everything you need will be provided. Make caps for newborns, prayer shawls, etc. (The Spring Coffee Shop) No reservation required.

6/21/16 – School Supply & Uniform Drive

Each fall we provide complete back-to-school kits for 1,400 students in our urban partner schools. Help prep the bags for this popular drive at the Resurrection Mission Center. Family-friendly for ages 5+ accompanied by an adult.

There are a variety of opportunities to serve that typically last between two and four hours. You can choose one that takes place on the church campus or beyond the church walls in the Greater Kansas City community.  *Please wear comfortable and modest clothing that is appropriate to the serving environment you will be working in.
