Appalachian Service Project (ASP) provides one of the most rewarding service opportunities in the nation for high school students and their leaders — bringing thousands of volunteers from around the country to rural Central Appalachia to repair homes for low-income families. ASP's goal is to make homes 'warmer, safer and drier' for families in need.
Volunteers work on a variety of different projects, including tasks such as strengthening foundations, patching leaks, fixing roofs, building walls, repairing stairs, digging flood channels, installing plumbing, and painting exteriors. Even if students do not have much building experience, ASP will match each student's skill level to the appropriate projects.
It is much more than a building program though, it’s a relationship ministry. Our group will spend time interacting with the families we will be serving. These relationships will impact students for years to come, and they’ll learn lessons that will enrich their faith and build character for the rest of their lives.
WHO: Students entering 9th-12th grade in the fall of 2019 and 2019 high school graduates.
WHEN: Saturday, June 22 - Sunday, June 30
WHERE: Rural Central Appalachia, Kentucky
COST: $499.00 ($200 deposit due at registration - $100 of the deposit is non-refundable). Adult leader cost is $50. This includes:

DETAILS: Students will be housed in one of ASP’s several base camps — often a school or community center rented for the summer to put the group closer to Appalachia’s remote communities. The ASP staff will provide guidance on the overall direction of our project. All tools and construction materials will be provided, not to mention three meals a day and plenty of opportunities for worship and reflection.

Prior to completing the forms, you will need to review the ASP Safety Manual and Expectations, Rules and Regulations information. The forms need to be completed and notarized. Please return these forms along with a copy of your insurance card to the rezlife office by June 15. Your student will not be able to participate if we do not have all of these items - no exceptions.
CHECK IN: Students will check in on Saturday, June 22, at 7:30am in Room C050, lower level, Building C, Leawood Campus. We will depart at 8am sharp!
Armed with a new heart for service, students will begin to give back to their own families, to their church, and to their community. For many, this experience is the first step towards a lifelong vocation of caring for and serving others. Join rezlife for this life-changing mission trip.
