This mission trip is for those students entering 7th and 8th grade in the fall of 2018 and adult leader volunteers.

The trip is July 16-20.

What is the cost? The cost of the trip is $200.00 per student and $25.00 for an adult co-mentor. This includes your transportation, meals while on the trip, lodging, and an awesome t-shirt.

Where do we stay? Students and adult mission leaders are housed at Central United Methodist Church in Kansas City, MO.  Every person needs to bring their own sleeping bag and pillow.  Showers are available at a nearby community center.

What kind of work will we be doing? Every mission trip is unique. Trips include a variety of service opportunities. We will be serving the community through a variety of projects including:  Harvesters, Upper Room Reading, Hope Faith, and Resurrection Furnishings just to name a few.  Students will be serving in mission teams with 2 adult leaders per team. Each team will serve several different mission sites. Besides serving during the day, all students will participate in Bible study, small group discussions, worship, fellowship, and games.

  • Scroll down and select the 2018 rezlife Medical Form in the Event Listings. If you completed an online medical form in 2017, you will need to fill out a new 2018 form. Most of the fields in the form should pre-populate your 2017 information and then you can make the necessary updates.
  • When you select “Register Now-Individual Registration” you’ll be asked to provide your ABC Signup email address and password (used to register your student for the trip). Select the appropriate student for the event.
  • You need to complete one form per student.
  • This form will be used for all rezlife events through December 2018.
  • If at any time, any of the information changes, please update the form so that the most current information is on file.
  • At the beginning of 2019, you’ll need to complete a new form.

Each student is required to have a completed form on file at least 2 weeks prior to the trip. The form needs to be completed for your student to be able to participate in the Surge KC Mission Trip!

Parent & Student Meeting: There is a mandatory parent and student meeting on June 25 from 7-8pm in Room C050, Building C, Leawood Campus. All information regarding the trip (what to bring, guidelines and student covenant) will be handed out and gone over. This is required for all students participating in this trip (and at least one parent) even if you’ve been on a mission trip in the past.

Check in: Students will check in for the trip on Monday, July 16, at 6:30pm in Room C050, Building C, Lower Level.

Pick up: Parents can pick up students on Friday, July 20, at 4:00pm in the Church of the Resurrection parking lot off Roe Avenue, East of Building C.

This is going to be an amazing experience as we have the awesome opportunity to serve the Lord together while having fun in the process. Be prepared to be stretched and molded in new and different ways during your experience.
