Drive-Up Food & Supply Drive for Avenue of Life: April 3

As a community partner, Avenue of Life's mission is to mobilize our community to equip and empower low-income individuals and families to be self-sustained and independent.

Since the "shelter in place" order, Avenue of Life has given out hundreds of food/hygiene packs to families in need and are constantly packaging and delivering food and hygiene packs to the families they serve.  They also continue to serve 'to go' meals for the chronically homeless in our community.

Food Needs (NO GLASS):

  • Canned food (meat, stew, vegetables, etc.)
  • Oatmeal (packages with instant oatmeal is easiest for our families)
  • Cereal
  • Ramen
  • Peanut Butter
  • Jelly
  • Bread
  • Boxes of macaroni and cheese
  • Pasta (any kind)
  • Fruit (a bag of apples or oranges is super helpful)
  • Granola Bars
  • Chips (individual single-serve packages are best)
  • Any items that are pre-packaged and easy to hand out (put in 'to go' bags) for the chronically homeless for which we provide meals as well

Hygiene Needs:

  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Deodorant
  • Toothpaste/toothbrushes
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Soap
  • Razors
  • Shaving Cream
  • Diapers

Please note we are asking you to participate only IF you are already going to the store, placing an online order or have items to share. We are not encouraging you to go out and make a special grocery store trip!

Items can be dropped-off at Church of the Resurrection Leawood on Friday, April 3 from 9am-11am.  To donate, drive up to the truck in the circle drive at Building A and a volunteer will take your donations out of your car.

To help protect our volunteers and Avenue of Life's guests, please donate non-expired, un-opened food products and use proper hand-washing and sanitation techniques before you drop them off. Please, NO glass containers.
