First, let’s focus on the Leawood Campus ministry, group, or class you’re interested in by choosing a life stage below:
The “next phase” for this group of 40-50-year-old singles and couples, is empty/emptying nest, with kids in high school and beyond. This is a new class, starting with 10-12 members, with a target of 20. They welcome new members and enjoy hearing different perspectives.
The format is discussion based, with 4-6-week studies ranging from books of the Bible to Christian topics, depending on what the group decides. The leadership role and amount of preparation changes with each study. The group meets outside of class for service projects or socials at least six times/year.

Join us on the greatest journey ever - knowing, loving and serving God! We're here to help guide you as you begin (or continue) your journey of faith.
We understand people are in different places on their faith journey, that's why Resurrection offers so many ways for people to connect and be in community. The purpose of a small group is to be in community with others who challenge you to grow spiritually, live out your faith by serving others and encourage one another through life's ups and downs.
There are four primary ways that many get connected to small group community:
Join us on Wednesday nights for classes that will both challenge you to go deeper and connect you with other folks. This is a great first step to meet others in the life of the church. Many meet others in these foundational classes who they then would like to start new groups with or continue on together in additional classes. To see a full list of class options on Wednesdays click here.
All of the Sunday School classes at Church of the Resurrection Leawood are open to new members and are considered small groups. Many find it very convenient to attend Sunday School before or after they go to worship. You can see a list of adult Sunday School classes here.
If you have met others through foundational classes or through the life of the church and would like to start a new small group with them, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or fill out our small group leader inquiry form to get started.
We have groups that have started meeting but are looking for more people to join them and become part of their community. If you are ready for this more in-depth, devoted small group experience complete the
inquiry form and someone from our Group Life team will be in touch to help suggest a group to try out. Or if you are interested in leading a new small group please click the link in the section below.
Small group leaders play an important role at Resurrection in helping people get connected into community where they can experience and develop the five essential practices of the Christian life. Please fill out this form and someone from our staff will be in touch with you.

The Living Room has about 12 couples, most with kids. Usually there’s at least one person each Sunday without a spouse in attendance. Different people volunteer to lead the discussion each week. It’s a terrific group with a lot of involvement, and We meet socially about once every other month.

Faith Builders class is a mix of 20's, 30's and early 40's, as well as single, married, and married with children. Our class began during the summer of 2014, so we are a newer group with approximately 25 members.
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month. Our class begins with sharing joys and concerns from our lives and then moving into our study, which typically involves watching a short video prior to discussion. We recognize that people have busy lives and encourage our members to come regardless of whether or not they have read the book.
We typically participate in one Saturday Faithwork each month and have served meals, moved furniture, and organized donations. Our social outings are typically quarterly and have involved bowling, BBQ, potluck brunch and picnic at a park. We are open to new members and excited to have our group grow together in our faiths.

The S.E.E. Class (Spiritual Enrichment and Encouragement) has about 40 members comprised of all ages and all stages of life: married, single, working and retired.
We study books of the Bible and topical group studies, and we like to have discussion! It can be said that the facilitator only has to have 2 or 3 good discussion questions and we are good to go! Five of our members rotate as facilitators for each lesson. We share joys and concerns each week and act as “stretcher bearers” when class members need us.
Some of our mission projects have included buying uniforms for partner schools, donating Christmas presents for J.O.Y in Service, donations to missions in Tanzania and Russia, and donations to Hunger Stoppers.
