Building Better Moms

Enjoy fellowship and fun with moms who can relate to your daily joys and challenges. Building Better Moms 2018-2019 registration opens Saturday, May 12, with daytime and evening groups available! Groups are for mothers with children newborn – college & beyond.

United Methodist Women Rummage Sale is coming!

Start saving your treasures for the UMW Rummage Sale. The summer sale helps to raise funds for programs that uplift women and children in our community and beyond. This year's sale is July 20-21.

Brian Zahnd is coming to Resurrection Leawood

Author, speaker and pastor Brian Zahnd will be speaking at Resurrection Leawood, Tuesday, May 15, 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary. He is the founder and lead pastor of Word of Life Church, a thriving church in St. Joseph, MO, and has authored numerous books, including Sinners in the Hands of a Loving God.

This weekend in worship Pastor Adam will share the message, What Would Jesus Say...on Mother's Day? covering guilt to grace! Sign up to receive scripture readings to enhance your reflection on this sermon through the daily Grow Pray Study (GPS) emails.

Next weekend, May 19/20, we will celebrate graduates! All high school or college graduates who attend one of our weekend worship services will receive a graduation gift from the church! (Graduate must be present.)


A Child's Hope Foster/Adopt Ministry

All children deserve a stable loving home, but the number of children being taken from their families due to abuse or neglect continues to rise in Kansas and Missouri. Learn about ways you can make a difference in these children's lives at an Information Meeting on June 4 at 6:30 pm in Leawood B149.

Schools Furnishing Hope

Serve with our Furnishings Ministry as we re-purpose furniture from the Blue Valley School District for distribution by educational programs and agencies in the Kansas City area. Schools Furnishing Hope offers many opportunities, days and shifts for serving. Click here to sign up to serve and make a difference for students at schools in our community!

Serve with MOCSA

Volunteer hospital advocates for the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA) provide crisis intervention, resources and referrals to victims of sexual assault. Join the Allies for Racial Justice Prayer Team

We team up with St. James UMC to work together for racial justice in our community through Allies for Racial Justice. Calling all 5th graders!

5th Graders are invited to attend rezlife – Wed., May 16, 6:15-7:45 pm, Leawood Student Center. Fun activities, inflatables, bubble soccer and more. Pizza, soda, candy $1 each. Parents are welcome to stay and help. Email rezlife with any questions.

Coming up at Tuesday Grow Night

Choose from a variety of classes, join a service opportunity or simply enjoy meaningful discussions at Tuesday Grow Night.

  • Meet Your Bible: New Testament – Learn how this section of the Bible carries on and completes God's redemptive story. May 15-June 5, 6:30-8:30, C141. Register online.
  • Serve Opportunity – On May 22, create cards and small gifts for dementia patients. This activity is appropriate for all ages and no registration is needed. Meet in the Lower Level Mission Serving Space of Leawood's Building A from 6:30-8 pm

What is Pentecost?

One of the greatest events in history, Pentecost, is often ignored or trivialized by the modern church. This year's Pentecost Sunday is May 20, and on Saturday, May 19, Pastor Jeff Kirby will lead a half-day seminar with worship led by Cory Ryan. Join us for The Miracle and Meaning of Pentecost. Coffee and light breakfast at 8:30 am, seminar is from 9 am – noon. Register here.

Make Resurrection your home for Care Night on Thursday evenings.

Here are some of the classes offered:

  • You Are Worthy – Thursdays, May 10-17, 7 pm, Wesley Covenant Chapel. This class will uncover the relationship between self-compassion and connection and offer practical skills for changing the way you see yourself and the way you are with others. Led by Megan Mulheron, PLMFT and based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown.
  • Tai Chi – We have two different opportunities to practice Tai Chi:
  • Emotional Wellness – Thurs., May 17-31, 7 pm, C131. This three-week class will look at wellness tools that can be used to deal with a variety of daily stressors and make it easier for an individual to cope with everyday frustrations. Register here.
  • Mindfulness for Managing Stress – Thursdays, May 17-31, 7 pm, C136. Join the Mindful Community at Resurrection for a three-week focus on the use of mindfulness meditation to manage the stress in our daily lives. Register here.
