Music is almost always playing in our house, and I love, love, love to sing, even when it is off-key. I can’t quite explain it, but music, for me, has a way of taking me back to a place or time, and particularly meaningful songs have an ability of connecting deep down in my soul. Sunday morning was one of these such days – I had the privilege of singing with the choir and loved every minute of it. Not only was I warmly welcomed by my choir buddy, Jane, but everyone there was so excited to see me and was having so much fun. They are an incredibly talented group of people who are sharing talents that are far beyond my own and do so with such joy. If you’ve ever thought about serving in our music ministry, DO it; you will be so glad that you did.
While I might not be able to make my way back to sing with them again anytime soon, I was so grateful for the chance to experience what it feels to serve with this team. That’s what I love so much about this church--there are people everywhere making ministry happen, from the Matthew’s Ministry participants and volunteers to the Café team and Chef Tony who make breakfast on Sunday mornings happen. There are endless ways to be a part of this community and to serve, and I love the opportunity to see all that is happening as a part of changing the world through each of you. You are what makes this community so amazing, and I couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of it.
If you are searching for a way to serve, let me know. I’d love to help you find how God might be calling you.
