We long for connection and are made to be in relationship with others! This was part of the message Pastors Scott and Wendy Lyons Chrostek shared in their sermon last weekend. We miss gathering in-person in each other's homes, in public places, in our churches – but being safe through social distancing doesn't have to mean living in isolation and loneliness.

We have many ways to be connected. Here are some of the upcoming highlights:

TONIGHT! Experience Black History Through Word and Song – Hear powerful worship music and dramatic readings from Black authors and theologians this evening at 6:30. Sign up here or watch on

Pastor Adam's Tuesday Vespers – For his Vespers next week, Feb. 16, at 7:30 pm, Pastor Adam will be joined by the COR Worship Collective for an Evensong experience. It will be on Facebook Live and at, and will be available for streaming through the rest of the week.

Ash Wednesday – Feb. 17 begins the season of Lent, when we prepare our hearts and minds for Easter. At Leawood we are hosting an outdoor experience with prayer, reflection and an opportunity to receive ashes from our pastors. Learn more here.

Share the gift of life at our first 2021 Blood Drive – Monday, Feb. 15 and Tuesday, Feb. 16, 8 am – 8 pm, Bldg. B Foundry. Make an appointment here to give hope and serve our community!

This weekend Pastors Scott and Wendy Chrostek continue the series, At Home, But Not Alone. Let someone know they're not alone by inviting them to worship with you online. Here are the worship options this weekend:

Caring for You

→ For those who have experienced a loss through suicide, we invite you to the Suicide Grief Support Group led by Pastor Steve Langhofer. Join them every other Thursday starting Feb. 18, 6:30-8 pm, to share your experience, give and receive support and gain insight into navigating this time of grief. Register here.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) group offers education for family, significant others and friends of people living with mental illness. Learn strategies for taking care of the person you love (and find that you're not alone in this!) as you meet Thursdays for eight weeks starting March 18. Register online.

Find hope and healing through Resurrection Recovery

  • Hear from those navigating the recovery journey as they share their stories on Thursday evenings at 6:15 in the Foundry. You can access these testimonies online as well.
  • Have you or a loved one been affected by substance, drug or alcohol abuse or addictions of any kind? Resurrection Recovery Support Groups meet Thursday evenings at 7, in person at Resurrection Leawood, Bldg. B, or online via Zoom.

  • Prayer Requests – Please submit your prayer requests online. We have a team dedicated to praying for these requests.
