When we closed our physical locations last year, we also had to stop accepting donations of clothes, toys, and other goods we distributed back into the community. Now that our buildings have re-opened, we want to share an update on what types of donations we can accept and how you can give them.
At Resurrection Leawood, we have two bins available for monthly donations to our Hunger Ministry and Partner School Ministry. We have a list of acceptable and needed items for those ministries on their web pages, and the bins to drop off goods are located in the Narthex of Building A next to the Mission Ministries space. (Any other donations will have to be disposed of.)
Resurrection Overland Park will continue to accept donations for their food pantry on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1-3 pm. All other campuses will no longer have open spaces for donations.
We will also continue our drop-off events at all Resurrection locations on the third Saturday of each month, with each event focused on a particular need to best serve our community partners with the resources they need at that time. Here are our next few events:
Learn more about what we accept, ways to volunteer, and organizations that will accept furniture and other goods on our Local Impact web page.
In last week's sermon, Rev. Scott Chrostek examined the movie Onward to see how it encourages us to press forward in loving and appreciating the people around us. Watch it online.

Come and be a friend to an individual with special needs. We'll play games, do crafts, share a meal, and watch a movie together as we help their parents and caregivers to have a night off. Sign up here.
As we expand our missions work in Kansas City, we are looking for volunteers who can help us distribute food and other goods to our partner organizations. You don't need any kind of special driver's license, but you must be willing to drive a box truck and complete a medial DOT exam (we'll pay for it!). Please contact email@example.com for more information.
