We are thrilled to announce a significant pastoral role change involving Wendy Lyons Chrostek as part of the churchwide reorganization. You have already known her as the Senior Director of Congregational Care, but she is now stepping into the new role of Leawood Location Pastor. We at Resurrection Leawood have never had a designated location pastor, so this is an exciting change for us!
Her new responsibilities will mirror what our other location pastors do: helping the worshipers in our community become more deeply connected to God and one another as we reach non-religious and nominally religious people in their journey to become deeply committed Christians.
Wendy will do this through her incredible passion for welcoming new members and visitors, as well as by personally connecting with the regular churchgoers. As the key leader representing Resurrection Leawood in the community, she will bring her energy and vision to Resurrection both inside the walls of the church and out in our neighborhoods.
Wendy has shown during her time in Congregational Care that she has a gift for comforting and connecting with people in moments of joy and sadness, and that experience will become a gift to us as she guides us in our Christian journey. Under her leadership as our location pastor, we are beyond excited to see how Resurrection Leawood will continue to grow our impact in the community and transform the world.
Keep your eye out next Tuesday for a special email from Wendy!
Last weekend we celebrated with Pastor Steve Langhofer as he preached his final sermon before retirement, sharing how important it is for us to love God, love ourselves, and love the people around us.
If you receive Pastor Adam's enotes, you’ve heard that we're reorganizing our staff structure to facilitate greater collaboration across Resurrection locations and expand our online connections. Because of this, we have 30+ job openings throughout the church right now. Here are a few key ones:
