Walk with Compassion

These children around the world face unimaginable challenges – disease, hunger, abandonment, abuse – and Resurrection Downtown is teaming up to bring them help and hope. Join us as we “Walk with Compassion to End Child Poverty.” Walk with us at Theis Park on Saturday, October 14. Or you can also support Team Rez Downtowners by spreading the word and donating toward our goal of raising $500.

Here's what your support can do:

  • $18 covers a malaria net to protect a child from this disease
  • $40 pays for a dental checkup to prevent life-threatening health
  • problems
  • $46 provides 30 days of shelter for a child who has been orphaned
  • or abused
  • $79 buys a water filtration system that provides clean, safe water for a family of four
  • $150 will buy a pig that can help a family to earn a living

Saturday, October 14 9:30-11:30 am Theis Park (at Oak & W. 47th St., Kansas City, MO)

This event is designed for young and old. We are calling for friends, family, neighbors and coworkers to unite for this common purpose. Together, we can be the hands and feet of Jesus to bring an end to poverty for these children and give them a future filled with hope.

Our Team

Our fundraising team is committed to helping children in extreme poverty find new hope. Every dollar we raise together will go to the urgent needs they face everyday — lack of food, malaria, disaster relief, and more.

We love being a part of a team that is so passionate about this crucial work. If you hear us talking about Walk with Compassion, it's because we just can't help it. Together, we can end child poverty!
