12:30 pm Lunch
1-3 pm Training

This 2-hour training is geared for individuals desiring a closer relationship with our neighbors and with God through serving cross-cultural communities. It is also required for those individuals who wish to regularly serve children in any of Resurrection's Kansas City school partnerships.

By the end of the training, a learner will be able to:

  • Discuss the history of Kansas City, especially as it relates to the myriad of cultural differences
  • Identify your own cultural biases and outline ways to minimize them
  • Articulate specific approaches for better interacting with people different than yourself
  • Understand the multitude of cross cultural service opportunities available in KC
  • Identify a service location to implement new skills and grow withKC and with God

We also invite those with previous cross cultural volunteer experience participate in order to share tools and insights on developing mutually transformative relationships with people from different cultures.

If you are in need of training sooner than later, please attend an Urban Training hosted at the Leawood Campus. Sign up at the cor.org website and search Urban Training to access the sign up form. Contact Pastor Patrick.McLaughlin@cor.org if you experience difficulty or are not contacted about upcoming dates.
