Backpacks for Hunger: Special Fill Event - March 30

During the extended school closure we continue to look for ways to support students and families in need. The Backpacks for Hunger bags of non-perishable food will continue to be distributed by KCMO at their food distribution sites.

As we continue to fill and deliver these bags we are adapting the fill process to  limit interactions and keep everyone healthy and safe. Our volunteer shifts have been reduced to include no more than ten people working together at any one time. In between each one-hour shift, we will wipe down everything before the next group comes in.

Health professionals are using these screening measures in order to protect individuals and mitigate the spread of COVID-19. When you arrive to serve, please expect to have your temperature taken and be ready to answer the following screening questions (if you answer yes to any, you will not be able to volunteer):

  1. Have you traveled to any of these locations in the last 14 days? China, Iran, South Korea, Italy, Japan
  2. Have you had contact with anyone with confirmed COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
  3. Have you had any of these symptoms in the last 14 days? Fever greater than 100, difficulty breathing, cough
  4. Are you currently experiencing fever over 100, difficulty breathing or cough?
