Leawood: Resident Pastor Congregational Care (40 Hours, Salaried, Benefits Eligible)


Primary responsibilities:

  • In partnership with Congregational Care Pastors, provide care for individuals in assigned Leawood worshipping community - including hospital visits, counseling for individuals, and prayer request follow up.
  • Build and maintain processes to offer proactive care to members of worshipping community, helping them to consistently feel valued and appreciated.
  • Be present during weekend worship, with opportunities to lead in worship for one of our church services on the Leawood Campus.

Main qualifications:

  • Theologically trained, or willing to pursue theological training.
  • Eager to support and encourage others.
  • Capable of maintaining confidences, effective listening and communicating sensitive information.
  • Desire to complete necessary requirements within the United Methodist Church for credentialing as a pastor within two years.
  • Able to conduct one-on-one counseling sessions as needed.

Leawood: Facilities Maintenance Tech I (40 Hours, Hourly, Benefits Eligible)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with room/event set-ups
  • Complete work orders
  • Minor repair projects
  • Maintain high level of appearance for church’s buildings and grounds

Main Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and customer service skills
  • High level of initiative and motivation
  • Able to bend and physically lift and push up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work Wednesday through Sunday, 1:30pm-10pm

Leawood: Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Sonflower Adult Learning Program (25 hours, Hourly)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on care and support for adult participants with special needs.
  • Partner with Program Coordinator and Team Lead encouraging each learner to engage in program activities to their fullest potential.
  • Assist in a variety of programs including devotion, bakery, art, music, community service, and enrichment activities.
  • Foster good communication with adult learners with special needs, caregivers, volunteers and staff team.

Main qualifications:

  • Ability to work with adults with special needs including autism, down syndrome, learning disabilities and other cognitive and/or physical disabilities. Prior experience preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
  • Ability to stand and walk (up to several blocks) throughout the workday and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to model for and assign tasks to volunteers.

Leawood: Preschool Teacher - KiDSCOR Early Learning Program (11-16.5 hours, Hourly)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Team teacher working with children ages 18 to 24 months.
  • Promote the mission of Church of the Resurrection by incorporating faith development into each day’s planning and activities.
  • High Scope Curriculum fostering a safe, healthy learning environment in which the teacher will guide the child’s behavior.
  • Serve as a resource for families.
  • Evaluate the program’s effectiveness on a regular basis.

Main qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field or a Child Development Associate (CDA) with related experience.
  • Prior experience working with young children in group settings.

Leawood: Kitchen Associate (15 Hours, Hourly)

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 9 am-noon and 3 hours on Sunday

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in daily food service operations; receiving, storing, and preparing food products sold in The Spring Café and for catered events. This may include purchasing, physically picking up, and delivering inventory items from local wholesale clubs and other vendors.
  • Prepare and ensure all internal catering orders are acknowledged, prepared, and delivered to the church’s ministries with excellent quality and on a timely basis.
  • Receive direction and guidance from the Kitchen Program Director/Cook.
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
  • Cook food in various kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly

Main qualifications:

  • Must be able to physically lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to stand for up to 6-8 hours.
  • Able to complete basic math functions.
  • Experience in email and word processing functions.
  • Capable of maintaining hours, which will include weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • High School education preferred.
  • Experience in food and customer services are preferred.

Blue Springs: Nursery and Childcare Worker (10 hours, Hourly)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set up nursery rooms for worship and non-worship events
  • Enforce health and safety standards including maintaining organized and clean classrooms
  • Manage supplies as needed
  • Encourage and support volunteer participation
  • Communicate regularly with the parents, co-workers, and Director in a positive way
  • Thoroughly read and understand the staff manual and covenant and adhere to all KiDS COR policies and procedures.


Main qualifications:

  • Ability to coordinate and manage schedule and communication with our volunteer nursery staff and parents
  • Have a team mentality and focus.
  • Self-motivated
  • Willingness to work weekend or evening hours
  • Undergo required training (i.e. Safe Gatherings, CPR, staff meetings, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
