Greetings RezDowntowners,

The energy downtown has been pretty great these past few days. With some warmer weather, extended daylight, the Big 12 Basketball Tournament and the US Barista Championships (you knew I would throw that one in there!) it has been an awesome week in the city. Spring is drawing near! I hope you'll come down this weekend and enjoy everything going on, in addition to joining us for worship.

This weekend I'll preach live the second in our series on The Walk: Five Essential Practices for Living the Christian Life. I'm planning to discuss the importance of reading Scripture daily as a means of growing in our walk with Christ. As you read through the Gospels and look at some of the major movements throughout the Old Testament, what you'll discover is that God's word, and our willingness to immerse our lives in it, has paved the way for courage, boldness, prosperity and the life we've been looking for.

I hope you'll join me on Saturday and Sunday as we look at this topic closely and renew our commitment to growing in the knowledge and love of God, seeking to close the spiritual gap as a part of our Vision 2030.

Also, given that this weekend is St. Patrick's Day, we'll have a fun giveaway for everyone in attendance this weekend, and our very own Pastor Patrick will receive a pie in the face after each service because our KiDSCOR kids have surpassed another milestone in giving!

I want to thank those of you who have turned in your commitment for our Paving the Way campaign. THANK YOU for your generosity! As of Wednesday we have received commitments from just over 40% of our member households. If you have not yet been able to make a commitment, please take time to prayerfully consider how God is calling you to commit financially over the next two years. Please fill out your commitment online at cor.org/dtcommitment.

Perhaps you've noticed that over the last two weeks we have moved our offices from our previous location at 1508 Grand Blvd. The Resurrection Downtown offices are now located at 1522 McGee (the old Crosstown Station). Our phone number and office hours are still the same (816-979-1330 and 9 am – 4 pm, Monday through Thursday). We are doing this as a way of saving operational costs and maximizing our current facilities.

Reminder – No Serve Saturday March 16. Due to the dates of the Big 12 Tournament and Easter this year, we combined our March and April Serve Saturdays to create a “Super Serve Saturday” on March 30. Please remind friends and family we won't meet on March 16 and join us instead on March 30 for a special March Madness edition of Serve Saturday!

I am grateful to serve Christ with you through Resurrection Downtown and hope to see you out and about downtown sometime over the next three days, as well as in worship!

With Grace, Peace and God's Holy Adventure,

Scott
