Sharing Your Faith With Others

Resurrection Downtown,

This week in worship, we launched a new sermon series focused on what it means to be an influencer in faith.

Sharing our faith is one of the five essential practices we recommend for walking with Christ. It can be hard to know exactly the best way to do this in a world where Christians often get a bad rap for being judgmental or close-minded. But, we have good news to share! Life with Christ is filled with acceptance, peace, joy, and purpose! A few years ago, I took to writing personal faith reflections on social media, deciding that I wanted to use my accounts as a tool to bring people encouragement and connection to God’s love.

Many of us can point to one person who invited us to church; invitation is one of the most powerful resources we have! Here are a few ideas of ways you can be invitational this week:

1) Invite your neighbor to come with you to church this weekend.

2) Post online about what you're learning in worship, during classes or as you're serving in the community. (Want bonus points? Include a photo and tag us – we love to see what you're up to!)

3) Ask your neighbors to participate with you in the Partner School Support Drive.

We have about 1,500 kids participating in Vacation Bible Camp this week, and they are learning to share their faith with their friends – even by something as simple as inviting them to the Family Celebration Night this Friday!
