Greetings RezDowntowners,

Happy Friday everybody. I hope you are doing well and I hope that you've had a great week thus far.

Before I get too far in my note today, I just need to share how it has been so refreshing and exciting to see so many of you return to in-person worship over the last few weeks! We are seeing a growth we weren't expecting - our 9 am and 11 am worship services are close to reaching that limited capacity number (50%) we set when we re-opened. It's amazing!

While it was our joy to lead worship online for the better part of a year, there is just something about being in community and worshiping in person with fellow believers that is different. And something that made last weekend in worship particularly amazing is that we brought back our Resurrection Downtown coffee!

If you haven't been back yet, we hope we'll see you soon. If our attendance and growth continue, we may need to take a look at adding another service on Sunday mornings to ensure plenty of space for all who wish to be there for worship, but for now, know that we would love to see you at either 9 or 11! If you're bringing kids to KiDSCOR, please register using the link here.

Along with the attendance we've seen in worship, we are seeing an increasing number of kids in KiDSCOR! We hope and pray that our children's ministry will keep growing - but in order to make that happen, we need to be sure we have enough adult volunteers to safely spread out and engage with all of our kids in KiDSCOR. Would you be willing to serve even one Sunday a month with our littlest members?? If so, please reach out to Sarah.Elliott@cor.org to learn more and get connected.

This Weekend in Worship

This weekend we'll wrap up our series on Beginning Anew After the Pandemic with a message on The Power of "One Another." We'll talk about community and look at scripture from Acts as we consider the lives of the early followers of Jesus.

If you're ready, join us in person for services at 1601 Grand at 9 am or 11 am! Or, tune in for worship online at cor.org/live (Saturday at 5 pm, or Sunday at 7:30 am, 9 am, 11 am, or 5 pm) or on YouTube for on-demand. It's sure to be an inspiring weekend of worship with moving music and a message for all.

Coffee With the Pastors - This Sunday Afternoon

Also happening this weekend is a chance to make your membership at Church of the Resurrection "official!" Has Resurrection become your church home? Would you like to become a member or find out more about becoming one? In our online Coffee with the Pastors session, you'll learn about the history of Resurrection, hear from Pastor Adam on the beliefs and traditions of the UMC, and get to know the church a bit better. Connect with fellow worshipers and hear about opportunities to serve and grow! Sign up to join us this Sunday, April 25, online at 2 pm.

Downtown Date Night for Families!

Parents, we know it has been a tough year – so we wanted to offer a night of care for your kid(s) while you enjoy dinner, shopping, sleeping, praying, or doing nothing at all! On Friday, May 7, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm, we'll offer childcare and a pizza dinner to your kids while you have some free time.

The KiDSCOR staff and Resurrection Downtown staff will be on board to help your kids have a great evening while you do the same. For questions, contact Sarah.Elliott@cor.org. To register your family, click here. The registration deadline is May 3, so sign up soon!

Learn About Our 2022 Trip to Oberammergau

Following the sweeping of the Black Plague through Europe, the villagers of Oberammergau, Germany, vowed that if their town was spared, they would perform the Passion of Christ every 10 years, depicting the story of Christ from his triumphant entry into Jerusalem through his trial, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension. The town was spared, and they have honored this pledge every 10 years since 1634. July 26 - Aug, 4, 2022, we will take a trip to Europe to watch this incredible Passion Play unfold.

We'll host an online Q&A session about this trip on April 25 at 5 pm, so if you want more information about this trip and how you might participate, please sign up here. You can also learn a bit more about the trip itself here.

I am so grateful to be your pastor and to get to serve such an amazing community. I am excited to be in worship with you this weekend, and I hope you have a great finish to the week.

With Grace, Peace and God's Holy Adventure,

Scott
