Greetings RezDowntowners,

Happy (belated) Fourth of July! I hope all of you have enjoyed this crazy week with what felt like two Mondays, two Fridays and a holiday in between. I hope things are well with you and that you had a great Independence Day!

I am excited for our church and community as this summer has already been one of great growth and momentum. It has been amazing to see increases across the board in participation, service, volunteering and attendance. I am so encouraged by what God has been doing through each of you! Thank you for being such an amazing congregation—constantly inviting others, welcoming others, serving and sacrificing for others in the purpose of building Christian community in the heart of our city. It is awesome!

This weekend in worship, I'll lead us through the second movie in our Gospel in Film sermon series: Jumanji. I'll focus on what it looks like to be strong and courageous in our faith and how God is calling each of us to play our distinctive part as we strive to be the living body of Christ.  After watching Jumanji multiple times now, it's amazing to see the parallels one can draw from this really funny adventure remake!  I hope you'll join us in worship this weekend at 1601 Grand and invite others to join you.

Calling all Families!

I want to remind you that our second installation of Vacation Bible Camp will take place on Saturday, July 14 at the Healing House. We'll gather from 9 am – noon at 4505 St. John Ave., KCMO, for a VBC focused on service. Given that we will be meeting in the heat of the summer, we will have a fun-filled day inside their brand new facility with games, snacks, story time, lunch, and SO MUCH MORE! To register your kids or sign up to volunteer, visit our VBC page or email Katie.Ollenburger@cor.org!

Lastly, I want you to Save the Date! We just booked a Family Night at Chicken N Pickle in North Kansas City. Bring the whole family and join us on Monday night, July 30 from 6–9 pm for some pickleball on us. We will have courts reserved for RezDowntowners and their friends. Email Pastor Matt.Bisel@cor.org with questions or to save your spot!

I am so privileged to serve Christ with you in the heart of this city and I hope to see each of you this weekend in worship. Have a great Friday and may God bless you and keep you.

With Grace, Peace and God's Holy Adventure,

Scott
