Greetings RezDowntowners,

First Friday is upon us... it's hard to believe, but I'm fired up! TONIGHT we're planning to host an awesome First Friday Family Fall Fun Fest!  You’ll find the Resurrection Downtown team at the Southwest corner of our 1601 Grand parking lot starting at 6 pm! We won't be able to park people in the lot, but please plan to stop by for FREE hot dogs, bounce houses for the kids, crafts, cookie decorating a petting zoo, and more. Spread the word, invite friends and join us for a great night in the city!

This weekend in worship we're kicking off our new series on King David, where Rabbi Art Nemitoff and Pastor Adam are preaching a series of shared messages on David, a central figure within our life of faith on location from the Holy Land (visiting the places David lived). This weekend in worship, we'll be focusing on the David's identity as a shepherd, an unlikely candidate to be chosen as king. We'll visit both the Valley of Elah as well as Bethlehem, David's birthplace.

I hope you'll join us for this powerful kickoff to this series of sermons. Each week we'll be focusing on one or more of the Davidic Psalms, prayers that David wrote as a way of framing our time together and this weekend's focus will be on the 23rd Psalm. I can't wait to worship with you!

Christmas In October is almost here! Each fall we partner with CIO to rehabilitate lower-income homes in the KC area at no cost to the homeowner. Next Saturday, Oct. 13, we'll help with winterizing, painting, yard cleanup and minor repairs. (LAST CHANCE!) If you're interested in helping, but haven't signed up yet, email Pastor Patrick.McLaughlin@cor.org or see Dan Smith with the RezDT Construction Ministry after worship this weekend!

Finally, don't miss "Perfect Love," the most recent release from the COR Worship Collective (the 3rd of 6 songs to be produced). The COR Worship Collective includes members of Glory Revival, Vessel Worship, and leaders from every Resurrection campus worship team. Be sure to check it out and share it on social media!

I hope you have a great Friday and I'll look forward to seeing you tonight as well as later on this weekend in worship!

With Grace, Peace and God's Holy Adventure,

Scott
