This groundbreaking book by anti-racist educator Robin DiAngelo explores the phenomenon of “white fragility.” The counterproductive reactions white people have when discussing racism that serve to protect their positions and maintain racial inequality.

This 4-week book study invites readers to examine and discuss the ideas Robin DiAngelo presents in the book in order to open paths for participants to come to terms with their own and others’ fragile, defensive, and coded responses when a conversation turns to race. It will invite examination of the ways that conversations about race, either inter-racially or among white people, can—whether one is aware or not—reinforce racial hierarchy.
