What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is the time when a personal decision is made to confirm the vows of our baptism. At Church of the Resurrection, this happens as a group of students (grades 7th-12th) join together for a season of exploring the Christian faith, our history & heritage, Scripture, beliefs and commitments as United Methodist Christians. The Confirmation Ceremony is their opportunity to publicly claim the name Christian for themselves and become a full professing member of the church. The confirmand is taking responsibility for living as a member of the body of Christ and for fulfilling God's purposes.
Confirmation is not simply a “rite of passage.” It is not just a class to complete, nor something to take because everyone else is. It is a step in a life-long journey of pursuing the heights and depths of God's love!
