Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs,
I've been reflecting on this past week as I drink my coffee this morning. It was a special week, beginning with the powerful sermon Pastor Adam offered on Suicide Prevention. Then Sunday afternoon we had our outdoor baptism service. We baptized four of our children and reaffirmed the vows of one adult. This was followed by a potluck and fellowship with family and friends, which is always a special time in our community. At the same time, nineteen of our Rezlife students were gathered with their leaders for pizza and activities to kick off a new season of youth group.
Throughout this week, the building has been busy with many of our new fall classes starting. I remind you that our Adult Sunday school class will be back in session with a study of Genesis led by Chris Condra at Sinclair's Restaurant at 9:15 am this Sunday. Financial Peace University also begins on Tuesday night.
Pastor Adam will pick back up on our Words of Life sermon series this Sunday looking at the Ten Commandments through the eyes of Jesus. This week we turn to the 4th commandment: Remember the Sabbath day and treat it as holy. We'll see how this command for rest, renewal and reverence impacts our mental health. You might invite a friend who needs some Sabbath to join you this Sunday.
If you weren't here to see Pastor Adam's sermon or missed his note this week, here are the links to a variety of suicide prevention resources:
I look forward to seeing you this weekend.
