Living With Courageous Kindness

It was an amazing weekend of worship with our guest speaker, best-selling author Bob Goff. His energy was contagious. If you didn’t get a chance to join us for worship this weekend, you’ll want to catch this one. Bob had a great message about the distractions that keep us from loving as Jesus taught us.

This week begins a new slate of opportunities to grow in our faith. Pastor Adam’s conversation with Mindy Corporon on “A Commitment to Courageous Kindness” takes place in the Foundry of Building B at our Leawood location this Wednesday, October 13 at 6:30 pm or online. This will be the first a series of 3 conversations with members of our congregation who will share how they have answered the call to courageous kindness.

If you’d like to explore more of Bob Goff’s creative mind, another option is to join us at Blue Springs the next three Wednesdays at 6:30 pm for a book study on Everybody Always: Becoming Love in a World Full of Setbacks and Difficult People. Everybody, Always reveals the lessons Bob learned - often the hard way - about what it means to love without inhibition, insecurity, or restriction.

One last reminder, this weekend is our October Serve Saturday. We have great opportunities to serve at different times and locations throughout the community. Visit cor.org/next for the link to select how you will serve and sign up. This month we’re also collecting 14-16 oz plastic jars of peanut butter for our Backpacks for Hunger ministry. You can drop them off on Saturday from 9-11 or bring them to worship on Sunday. Then, come back and join us for our new series that begins this weekend, The You You Were Meant To Be: Growing in the Fruit of the Spirit.

I hope you have a great week!
