Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs,
There has been a flurry of activity at the church in preparation for Holy Week and our Easter celebrations. It all begins tomorrow with our Community Egg Hunt from 10 am - 12 pm. If our Facebook responses are an accurate indication, we expect a big crowd tomorrow. Thank you to all of you who have donated filled eggs or signed up to be a part of our volunteer team!
This is an incredible opportunity to welcome families from our community and show them our amazing Resurrection hospitality.
It will be a little chillier than we had hoped so make sure to layer up. If you could carpool with your neighbors that would help us to make room for all in the parking lot. We’ll have our big egg hunt at the beginning (so don’t be late!) and then the children will have an opportunity to engage in games, crafts, a petting zoo, bounce house and pictures with the Easter bunny. I know that we could still use some extra hands, so if you find your schedule has opened up, please let Diane Enlow know.
In worship on Sunday, we’ll celebrate Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem with our traditional children’s palm parade. Our children’s choir will also sing at both services, then we’ll move to the cross and see how Jesus managed to embody each of the five essential practices of the Christian life in the final hours of his life.
On Maundy Thursday, we’ll gather for worship at 7 pm to recall Jesus’ mandate to love one another and to share in holy communion together, marking the final supper of the disciples with Jesus. We’ll be unveiling a piece of art created especially for this night by one of our own members, Sabrina Powell. I got a preview yesterday and am excited for you to see it.
Then on Easter Sunday, April 21, services will be held at 8 am, 9:30 am and 11:15 am. Last week Pastor Adam invited us all to consider who we will invite to hear the Good News that Christ is risen on Easter weekend. I hope you’ve taken this call to action and invited family members, friends, and neighbors to join us for Easter at Resurrection.
Finally, make sure to check out the latest installment from the COR Worship Collective. It's awesome!
Grace and Peace,
Can’t find something? Let us help.
