Two Great Opportunities to Give Back

Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs,

What an exciting week it has been for Kansas City! Hearing the city erupt on Sunday night after the game and then the parade and celebration this week, one can’t help but get swept up in the excitement. It has been contagious! No doubt for Kansas Citians this will be a “Do you remember where you were when...?” moment.

Speaking of contagious, I am excited to preach the second sermon in our series on An Irresistible Power: The Magnetic Life and Love of Jesus this Sunday. I will be sharing a message on the power of serving with a testimony from one of our own members about how serving has become an irresistible component of his faith. Invite a friend you would love to serve with to join us.

You have an opportunity to experience the joy of serving yourself with two serving opportunities coming up very soon. You can sign up this Sunday for our next Blood Drive on February 20 and/or join us for our next Serve Saturday on Feb. 22. Each month we try to serve our community through various projects or working with partner agencies. This Serve Saturday we will be offering a food packing event with Rise Against Hunger. Spots will fill up fast for the packing event so do not delay in signing up your family for one of the shifts!

I want to thank all of you who contributed to our Sack Hunger Food Drive by bringing in a sack of food or making a donation toward a bulk purchase of food online. Your gifts will be welcome contributions to food pantries and back packs across our city. Thank you!!

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

In Christ,

Pastor Penny
