The HUGE Success of VBC

Resurrection West,

Vacation Bible Camp On-the-Go was a huge success and if you haven't participated yet, you can still get the VBC "lite" kits online. You can also view all of our daily videos teaching our kids how to Live, Love, Serve, Walk, and Talk like a Champion.

VBC this year was a great outreach through Church of the Resurrection, collaborating and faith building with children all over the world who participated. We partnered with Blue Water Drilling for our missions project and had a goal of raising $10,000 to sponsor the drilling of two borehole wells in Malawi. These children and their families raised over $12,000 to provide safe drinking water to more than 4,000 people in Malawi. VBC was the catalyst on this mission and now our community here, small groups, and other teams of people continue to donate and build more wells in Malawi. Way to go!

We also celebrate another successful MEGA MISSION with this year's Bless the Schools Backpack Fill. Volunteers this week packed 1,500 backpacks with school supplies and these were distributed to our partner school students and children all throughout the Kansas City area. Look for Pastor Chris Holliday's Facebook Live missions devotion with an update on the impact you have had in your giving and serving within our local school district.

If you have students at home it's a great time to schedule a hangout session with our new Director of Student Ministries, Blake Thomas. These socially distanced visits are a great way to catch up outdoors and hangout. If you are looking for daytime activities (and it's not raining) you might consider visiting our Resurrection West Prayer Walk using this link to guide you through "The Way of the Cross" journey.

My family is headed out of town on vacation to my wife's family cabin near Franklin, North Carolina. We are excited to get to the mountains for some fresh air, hiking, white-water rafting, and reading on the front porch. It's a great view! I look forward to returning to begin our fall ministry together. Until then, I'll join you online for worship. You can join, too, on Saturday at 5 pm, or on Sunday at 7:30, 9:15 or 11 am, or at 5 pm. We are also broadcasting on TV at 11 am on KSHB Channel 41.

In Christ,

Pastor Jason
