Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs,

This week at our Church Conference we approved five new candidates for ministry in the United Methodist Church. Kyle Ray from our Blue Springs campus was one of those approved. We are so pleased! He was joined by Lydia Kim, Leah Swank Miller, Blake Thomas and Christopher Wisener. It is always exciting to see individuals answer the call that God has placed on their lives and it will be exciting to see where God takes each one on this new journey.

This weekend in worship we’ll be recognizing another group beginning a new chapter of their lives — our graduates. We are especially proud of our graduates this year as they have faced unprecedented challenges to achieve this milestone. We would like to give a special gift to each graduate this Sunday, May 23 and share a picture of all our graduates. Please let us know you're graduating so we can have your gift ready for you. We'd also love to share graduation pictures during worship. Please send pictures of your graduates to Kirk.Bryson@cor.org today, Friday, May 21, to be included.

We will conclude our sermon series, People of the Light this weekend. Through the month of May we’ve been learning from Paul’s first letter to the church at Thessalonica. This weekend we’ll take a look at how Paul closes this letter to the Thessalonians and see how his guidance to those early converts has application for our graduates today. Pastor Adam will focus on the "Three Keys to a Meaningful Life." You can join us in person at 9 am and 11 am or online Saturday at 5 pm or Sunday at 7:30 am, 9 am, 11 am, or 5 pm, on YouTube, or the television broadcast Channel 38 "The Spot" at 8 and 11 am.

As a reminder, last week we announced that masks are optional in worship and adult programming. However, we will continue to wear masks for student and children's programming. Also, our staff will continue to wear masks because we know that some of you are not yet comfortable in public without masks, and some have yet to be vaccinated. If you're bringing kids to KiDSCOR for worship this weekend, please be sure to register them here.”

Finally, I want to invite any of our women to join me tomorrow, on Saturday, May 22, from 9-11 am as we share a Morning of Crafting. We have some breakfast treats and create paper flowers together for some fun and fellowship. Register here for the class.

I look forward to worshiping with you this weekend!
