In spite of a global pandemic, generous giving in 2020 has allowed us to do more ministry, reach more people and impact more lives than ever before!

This weekend, we can continue sharing uncommon generosity through the opportunity to present our giving commitments for 2021. Click here to see what uncommon generosity has made possible and to find resources for determining your investment in Church of the Resurrection's continued ministry.

You may fill out your online commitment card here.

Uncommon Generosity through Serving

  • JOY in Serving is our opportunity to bless others during the holiday season with uncommon generosity! For November, we are providing hot Thanksgiving meals to individuals and families and supplemental holiday groceries to several local partner agencies. A $10 donation provides a meal for an individual; $50 feeds a family this Thanksgiving. See how to Joyfully Offer Yourself in Serving here.
  • For November's Winter Warmth Drive, donate these new and gently used items:
    • Blankets
    • Sleeping bags
    • Winter outerwear (coats, hats, scarves, gloves)
    • Winter clothing (pants, tops, shoes, underwear, socks)
Bring items in good condition Saturday, Nov. 21, 9-11 am, Leawood Bldg. A circle drive.

This Weekend in Worship...

We will explore what it means to respond to God's generosity with gratitude. Worship with us online or on TV:

  • Saturday | 5 pm
  • Sunday | 7:30 am, 9:15 am, 11 am, 5 pm 8 am and 11 am on TV (KMCI 38 the Spot) 11 am on Facebook Live and YouTube

We have suspended in-person worship due to the increased spread of the coronavirus in our area. Please see this email from Pastor Adam for more information.

All times in this newsletter are Central Time.

Advent season begins Nov. 29

Advent, the four weeks leading up to Christmas, is a time for us to prepare to celebrate our Savior's birth. This tradition finds us lighting a candle each Sunday as we focus on the hope, joy, love and peace that comes when we know Jesus.

Here are some resources to help you celebrate the season of Advent from your homes.

  • Family Experience Kit features fun activities, serve opportunities, prayer and more – designed for elementary-age kids and their families. See how to order and pick up here (no shipping available).
  • Advent Wreath Kit with devotional guide – Find scripture and questions for discussion to use as we light the Advent candles each week. The $5 kit can be ordered here (pick up only, no shipping available).
  • DIY Advent Experience – Find downloadable resources for sharing Advent with your family and friends, including devotional guides, wreath instructions, printable materials and videos. Visit starting Nov. 22
