Thank you for taking a few minutes to see what is going on in the serve life of RezDT! The service opportunities below, along with REZDT community life, care and worship are how we equip you for the transformation of lives and the world. With your participation, we are #withKC! Opportunities to start letting God work through you and your talents can be found at our REZDT website.  Contact me anytime for questions, further connection, and care: 816-979-1344 or

There is intentionally repeated material here as the previous month's Serve Update apparently wasn't published.

9am--Program starts
Come early for refreshments!!

1522 McGee, KCMO 64108

Check out all of our sites by going to our Sign up form. Signing up isn't required but doing so helps us create a better experience for you and our partner agencies. The commitment you make also helps God work more deeply within you!

Don't forget to invite friends, family, neighbors and colleagues. A shared experience is the number one way to grow in your faith.  Our hope is that eventually you'll commit to serving at one of our partner sites on a regular basis. I'm happy to help you make a deeper connections to agencies and those dedicated to serving there.

We don't visit every site every month. Click here for a list with web-links to all of the serve partners that we can help you connect with throughout the year.

Honduras June 6-13, 2020

Have you ever considered traveling internationally on a serve trip?  We have a wonderful relationship with the Methodist Church of Honduras and we'd love for you to come meet our friends and make a global impact with us.  A RezDT team travels each June to El Obraje, Honduras to work with Pastor Alejendro and his community.  We typically pour concrete floors in homes to increase the health of families and offer a spiritual development course to the community. The trip is open to all adults. Teens 14-17 who are accompanied by a parent or guardian are also welcome.  Click here to check out details for the trip and apply to travel with the team by Feb 21st.  If you have questions, please contact Pastor

Bikes for Books at Wendell Phillips Elementary

The Bikes for Books program is a great way for individuals, families, or small groups from RezDowntown to incentivize students to read! Each week when students read a minimum of 20 minutes per day, they turn in slips to be entered into a drawing for a bike. The drawing will take place before Spring Break, so please consider donating a bike and or helmet to the program by March 1.  If you have questions, would like to make a financial donation to this program, or would like additional information, please contact Sally Smith at

Sack Out Hunger Food Drive

Thank you to all who contributed food and finances to make this year's Sack Out Hunger a success.  We collected 1,576lbs!!!  We added it to the cross campus collection which was over 31,000 lbs, yes 15 Tons of food, where it is now being distributed to food pantries around the city.  Thank you again for your generosity!

Save The Date:

March 21, 8:30am, 1601 Grand

Last year 350 people caught the spirit of March Madness and showed up to serve.  Our goal this year is 500 people!  Invite your friends, family, and co-workers.  Let's make this RezDT's biggest serve event ever!  Mark your calendar and sign up details will be coming soon!

Volunteer of the month

This month i'd like to honor the contributions of Bob "Jefe" Webb.  Bob is the RezDT context leader for our Honduras Global Impact Team. After several trips to serve in Honduras, Bob stepped up in 2018 to help facilitate trips at RezDT and to grow our Men's ministry programs.  He has been to Honduras several times since as a team member and with leadership from the Global Impact Department to set strategic priorities and further develop the relationship with local leaders in Honduras.  Thank you Jefe for your leadership, it is servants like you who make the church live into its potential.
