Thank you for taking a few minutes to see what is going on in the serve life of RezDT! The service opportunities below, along with REZDT community life, care and worship are how we equip you for the transformation of lives and the world. With your participation, we are #withKC! Opportunities to start letting God work through you and your talents can be found at our REZDT website.  Contact me anytime for questions, further connection, and care: 816-979-1344 or

There is intentionally repeated material here as the previous month's Serve Update apparently wasn't published.

9am--Program starts
Come early for refreshments!!

1522 McGee, KCMO 64108

Check out all of our sites by going to our Sign up form. Signing up isn't required but doing so helps us create a better experience for you and our partner agencies. The commitment you make also helps God work more deeply within you!

Don't forget to invite friends, family, neighbors and colleagues. A shared experience is the number one way to grow in your faith.  Our hope is that eventually you'll commit to serving at one of our partner sites on a regular basis. I'm happy to help you make a deeper connections to agencies and those dedicated to serving there.

We don't visit every site every month. Click here for a list with web-links to all of the serve partners that we can help you connect with throughout the year.

Annual Liaison Meeting Report

Twenty-five leaders gathered on Jan 5 to celebrate, fellowship and set some goals for the year ahead.  Several liaisons retired from their duties and the Lord has blessed us with several new leaders to help bring new ideas and energy to serving the community.  Remember to thank a liaison anytime you can, they truly make the wheels turn for our serving programs out of RezDT.  After celebrating our leaders, we celebrated some successful efforts.  Our Backpack ministry continued to grow with participation from families with young children or mobility issues who can't as easily get out into the community.  We celebrated the March Madness Serve Saturday where 350 people gathered to serve on one day.  We also celebrated the increase in participation month over month!  This led to a conversation about these goals:

  1. Align with our 2030 Vision Closing the Gap ministry.
  2. Grow Serve Saturday by 10% in participants and first time participants.
  3. Help people find themselves in committed service relationships with agencies we introduce to them at Serve Saturday.
  4. Develop and publish stories of service in the community.
  5. Help people find their SHAPE.
  6. Connect further to students in the community who are looking fro community service hours.

Do any of these resonate with you?  Would you like to add your gifts to the effort?  Contact me at to find a time to chat.

Volunteer of the month

Mark-McCall.JPG?mtime=20191217212057#asset:25715Mark (pictured far left) doing some HEAVY lifting with other volunteers, delivering mattresses to families for children who don't have their own beds.

This month I'd like to honor the work and gifts of Mark McCall.  You can find Mark volunteering for just about every opportunity he can find.  He helps a LOT with our Wendell Phillips partnership through tutoring, delivering beds, packaging hunger backpacks, and then serving on the team that delivers them the school each Friday.  Mark truly has a servants heart and I appreciate his leadership through service.  Thank you Mark for who you have let the Lord make you and all you do with it!

See you Saturday!

I also hope you've enjoyed getting to know what's going on in the Serve life of RezDT!  Don't hesitate to reach out anytime you have questions, concerns, or just need a listening ear. Email or call 816-979-1344.

Grace and Peace,
