Hi Resurrection Overland Park,

I want to celebrate an amazing weekend as we offered our pledge commitments. I was moved at both services as we sang and prayed, reflected on scripture, and walked together to give our gifts to God through the church. Thank you to each one of you who made your pledge in person or online. If you haven’t yet had the chance, you can submit your pledge here. As a thank you, plan to pick up your new 2022 coffee mug after each Sunday worship service or during office hours, Monday through Thursday, 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. Your generosity makes a difference!

Let me share just one example! By the time the Food Pantry closes on Wednesday, you will have provided almost 250 Thanksgiving meals to families in our community. Last month alone, you served 28,300 meals. Your generosity touches many other aspects of our church life together. Another way you can serve families this week is by taking an ornament from our Hope Tree which includes a list of gifts and items to buy for families experiencing homelessness.

This coming weekend, I look forward to the start of the Advent season. Advent includes the four weeks leading up to Christmas, which helps us anticipate the coming of Christ. Pastor Adam will kick off our sermon series, The Journey. Each weekend we have something fun planned during worship. This weekend, stick around for cookies and cocoa!

We also have some amazing experiences for you and your family this season. Bring family and friends to our KiDSCOR Merry Little Christmas event Saturday December 4 from 9:30 - 11:30 am. Join us for Christmas Caroling in the neighborhoods around our church on Wednesday December 8, beginning at 6 pm. Let us know you are coming to sing so we can plan our routes by registering HERE.

I want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. Today, we are hosting a prayer vigil online. As you make plans to celebrate the holiday, will you join me and others in prayer? In observance of the holiday, our church office will be closed Wednesday at noon through Sunday.

In Christ,

Joshua Clough
