Greetings RezDowntowners,

After another crazy week of weather, I am hoping that this message finds you safe and warm. These past few days, I have found myself concerned and praying for all of our fellow Kansas Citians who don't have access to reliable shelter on days like these. We work closely with area shelters (often times our partners in ministry) in trying to connect as many people with warming stations and safe lodging, but for all of those people we don't know please join me in prayer.

This weekend we are shifting away from our focus on the game of football and instead turning our attention onto what God is calling us (Church of the Resurrection) to do over the next several years. This weekend at each one of our services we'll be diving into our 2030 Vision, the things God is calling us to do to change the world and to Close the Gap between the world as it is now and the world as it should be. It will be a huge weekend for us and I don't want you to miss it. Join me on Saturday night at 5:10 pm, or on Sunday at 9 am, 10:45 am or 5 pm. You won't regret it!

In the meantime, I want to encourage you to also join me this weekend in helping to fight food insecurity in Kansas City by donating non-perishable food items in our Souper Bowl Food DriveYour donations can be returned to church and placed in the designated containers in the lobby through this Sunday, Feb. 10. Donations from Resurrection Downtown will go directly to our partner school, East High. To learn more or donate online, visit cor.org/hunger, or text COR to 77977.

This weekend we are also launching another 8-week course designed for people who struggle with chronic depression or anxiety. Improve Your Mental Wellness begins this Sunday starting at 3:30 pm. Materials will educate participants on simple, practical lifestyle changes to relieve symptoms and will be based on the book The Depression Cure. Roughly 90% of the people who have attended these classes that combine science and spirituality have experienced a noticeable improvement. Register here for this class, Sundays, Feb. 10 – Mar. 31, 3:30–5 pm at 1601 Grand.

I am excited to see you in worship this weekend, and I'm even more excited to hear feedback from all of our Resurrection Downtown women who are participating in this weekend's Inspired for Life women's conference. It is an honor to share in this community with you and I look forward to celebrating with you this weekend.

With Grace, Peace and God's Holy Adventure,

Scott
